After Visa Interview in Australia

Can someone please tell me how long after their interview in Australia did they receive their visa. I had my interview over a week ago now 17th August all went well but they were missing one divorce decree from my fiance's 129f which I might add was approved by USCIS, I had all my papers at interview and everything was in order till I got the guy doing the interview. they told me I did not need to go in again just to get the decree to them in the mail, they want a certified copy gggrrrr they only have copies that my fiance sent in to USCIS so I don't know why that wont suffice here. any way my fiance sent it express post last Tuesday 17th and I had not heard anything this week so I emailed them and they replied back within the hour and said they had not received it as yet. I made a lot of calls and tracked it down to it arrived Monday 23rd this week. I emailed them again yesterday and on Wednesday afternoon that I had tracked it down and it had arrived at sydney exchange. I have not heard back from them since. I have been back here nearly 9 weeks and planing on marrying on 11th September. I just need to know does anyone have an idea when I might get this visa i. They have a reply express post envelope to send me back my sealed envelope and passport.

I am starting to stress big time and really need to get home.

Hi Barbara...Welcome to VJ

I had the same problem when i went for my interview on the 3rd Aug. It seems that they send all Visa's out on Thursdays so if you didn't get it today you should get it next Friday.

I wish you all the best for your wedding on the 11th. I leave for the States on the 14th Sept can't wait it's been a long time coming like everyone else on here.

Oh thankyou Cathy how did you find that out about sending on Thursdays? Is weird really cause the first girl I saw said 3-5 days so would be mid week just gone of course. But because they wanted this decree and then said they had not received it has made the whole process long winded. heavens if I don't get it till next Friday I wont get a flight on the weekend at such short notice. I have a ticket already as was planning to be home by now but it is valid for a year and Delta just said to ring them when I know something and they will get me on the first plane home. My daughter arrives at Atlanta Thursday so looks like I wont be there to pick her up with my fiance, they will all be picking me up . Thankyou again though

I recieved mine on a Friday (after my Tuesday interview) so it makes sense that they post on Thursdays. Express post should be just the one day of travel.

I've seen they have asked for the origial divorce cert from a few people now (which they never request in your interview letter). For some reason on the day I didn't get asked (but had my partner express post a copy to me just incase it was requested).

You should have it in no time. Can you track your express post barcode?

I've seen they have asked for the origial divorce cert from a few people now (which they never request in your interview letter). For some reason on the day I didn't get asked (but had my partner express post a copy to me just incase it was requested).

You should have it in no time. Can you track your express post barcode?

Thanks Ang but you can only track express post once it arrives as I checked with Aussie post.The thing is this divorce decree was sent to USCIS in america from my fiance and we got approved there but for some reason it has gone missing and they only have the 2 of them not 3. But they did not let me know this before my interview. So we expressed posted a notarised copy of divorce decree and they got it last Monday but when I emailed them wed they said they had not received it so i checked and tracked it and it had arrived , I emailed them back and they have not returned my email at all. I sent another this morning but nothing. they can't ask for originals as they don't give them when you divorce all you get is a print out lol but they accept certified copies and if USCIS did then why can't US consulate here. In my interview letter they said the decree I sent in from me was not an original OMG so i got family law court to send me another one with a red stamp on it,(as they changed the colouring to black) when I handed it over she gave it back to me and said thats ok the one we have is fine. geese.

I don't now whether to book my flight for the weekend or not as I need to get home we leave Wed 8th for Florida as thats where we are getting married. I have changed 2 flights already

Hey again Ang I got an email back from consulate today and they said that they only received decree last Tuesday (post said Monday) and that they are now going through mail from that day What The???? but also said it wil be reviewed before end of week and if they need anything else they will notify me. I am sure now I will get visa Friday as that was all they were waiting for so it should be posted Thursday like all of yours have. Pleas ekeep yur fingers crossed as i booked my ticket home Saturday and really don't wont to have to change it again.

I miss my fiance so much and we have not even got our rings yet but that is not important a rubber band will do on the day as long as we both get married and are together nothing else matters right now. Silly thing is they received copy of decree by email and fax and notified my fiance by email that they had received it and would place it in file and wait for this certified one before they would finalise visa. Everyhitng went so well up until Sydney interview then It just went downhill. But now it is going back up . Thankyou again you and Cathy for replying to me.

TY TY TY yes it does suck I have to agree but they could not ignore me forever lol ahh well as we have both been married before, we are just getting married at Lake Eola Orlando it is beautiful there and my fiance's buddy from school is a pastor and he is doing the ceremony for us. It will be a small and intimate gathering and friends are hosting us at their house after. I am still having flowers and a cake as my fiance has never had a proper wedding before all have been in court houses. So i want to make it special for him. I have had the big wedding when I was younger, so doing it simple this time, my dress is black and white and my man is wearing his mess white uniform from his army days. I have always loved the photo of him in it so I asked if he would wear it on the day and he agreed. The park there is gorgeous and they have a special area just for weddings with a little altar and all and seats are all there as well. Our friends are doing the photography as well as he takes beautiful photos.

I am headed to Augusta Georgia where our apartment is. depending on what happens next year with his job and if we stay we will buy a house there also it is lovely area, I love it there. Wedding is in Florida due to his parents being elderly so we are taking it to them.

I told him tonight abut email and he was over the moon and I know what yu mean about the computer, am so over yahoo and camming. I just need to see him and be in our home. My daughter s also holidaying in the states right now and she will be at our wedding also so she is meeting us in Atlanta Friday well she will meet my fiance now and he will take them back to our home. then they wil all come and pick me up when I get in at airport lol. so exciting to know I am finally going home where i belong.
