I-129F

Do I need to fill I-129F even if I-130 has been approved and has gotten a NVC number? How long do we have to wait before receiving DS-3032 and my invoice to pay bills?

if you already have an i-130 approved and at NVC you are on the CR1/IR1 track and do not need i-129F (K-3).

i think the NVC process has been about 3-4 weeks total for most people but on this IDK for sure... perhaps someone else can advise on that.

if you gave your info (receipt #s, full name, etc) to anyone on VJ under the guise that they would "help" you through the immigration journey with his inside contacts (like his sister at USCIS) ... please contact OLUInquiries@dhs.gov, and go to http://www.whitehouse.gov/contact to report anything suspicious. Contact your congressman and senator's offices as well.

if you have an approved I-130 petition, then you (as the USC Spouse) are ineligible to file the I-129F for a K-3 visa.

I'm sorry, you really should focus on NVC processing now.

i'm less than 2 months in the process and do not really know how long it will be; i am USC so am hoping not more than 7-8 months, though some people have a year or two.

couple things... if she is your wife you wouldn't be filing I-129F unless it is with the I-130 for a K-3 visa. The I-129F solo is for fiancee. read the guides for CR1/IR1 and for K-3. many people on here say not to go the K-3 route, but depends on you and your situation what you should choose.

assuming (from your posting) you are permanent resident? if you are doing I-130, USCIS site says they are processing july 14, 2009 applications as of june 30, 2010 ( https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/processingTimesDisplay.do )... so that'd be just under a year. That is just the USCIS approval times. then you have NVC, then the wait for the interview in Islamabad. :( it is such a long wait!

not sure if you plan on waiting, but you CAN file I-130 now then upgrade your petition after you become a USC. i wouldn't wait just because the process takes so long. we made mistake of waiting until my husband got his degree first before filing; we should have just filed and had confidence he would pass everything. 20/20 hindsight.
