Your kidding right? You just paid your fees and send in your Agent Doc on the Sept 29th. Being that is only the 4 days ago and 2 of those days were weekend days I would say you need to show a little patience . You could also look at others time-lines and see how long they waited.

We all are very anxious to get through the process. I would suggest that you look at the time frames of other who went before you and see what they dealt with. It will keep you busy and improve your understanding of whats to come and probably lower your anxiety a little because you will have a more realistic time frame and know ruffly what time it takes for the various steps. Then once you pass that window of time start calling...

Just like now I am waiting along with others for an Embassy Appointment Letter for my wife. I have seen some people get these in 2 week from being complete with NVC. A person who was only 3 days earlier than me got his Oct interview. Good luck for him and bad for me... :crying: Look like I will have to wait 4 weeks  and then hopefully get an interview day in NOV. So those 3 little days will put me 1 month behind him... You will also need to or want to know that as you will be waiting for this also once your other packages are approved and complete. Good Luck.

This is the next step: http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/EZGuideSpouse

You have to call NVC and be proactiveTM. I think you want to complete NVC process in 1.5 to 2 months time.:star:

Otherwise, NVC will contact you by regular snail mail for all communications and you will end up finishing NVC in 9 months.

Thanks Loto. My husband has been calling but seems to be getting a busy signal for the past hour.

I would guess lots of calls to NVC are silly and should not be made but people being what they are just clog down the system. Then those who have reasonable and legitimate issues have to wait because of the frivolous calls. I never called the USCIS and I have only called NVC to speak to a person 3 times. The rests of the time I just went to the AVR system... Some times I think we forget that we are also somewhat responsible for making this process as slow as it is.

AVR? Automated Voice Recording? Shouldn't we be calling to find out our case number? What other way would be able to get this, excluding snail mail?

Congrats on getting out of the USCIS! :P Wish you good luck and I'm pretty sure the DS-3032 will be accepted :) You did put your married name on all of the forms, right???

Unfortunately despite being VERY clear with them and sending the Choice of Agent information via email exactly as the VJ suggests they decided to frack with me and firstly email me some email over a week later that made it obvious that they mistook me (the beneficiary) for the petitioner. I patiently explained who I am and what I want and they emailed me a couple of days later all BOLDS and UNDERLINES to tell me that I MUST mail it by POST. All of this has added I estimate 3 weeks to the process that could have taken (and has taken so many lucky VJers before us) two days. Makes me so mad I could spit. Honestly, I think they screwed up, mistook me and my email address for my husband and covered up their mistake by demanding it via post. It certainly smells fishy to me. They can't even get my name right either and are willfully ignoring that little issue. :help::bonk: :bonk: :bonk:

Nope, not kidding. The template was followed to the absolute letter, and not putting too fine a point on it, English is my first language so there are no "lost in translation issues". I honestly believe someone screwed up in the first instance, and they demanded the written form as a way to cover up the screw up. I sent again it via postal mail on Tuesday so I guess I might hear from them by the end of next week (I hope).

Trying not to despair, I just haven't seen my husband since January and I really really miss him, as we all do miss our spouses. Thank you.

I don't know I think the State Department is way behind the times by depending on a phone system. Imagine if they joined the 21st century and paid for an online system where petitioners/beneficiaries could check their status in real time. ELECTRONIC processing..wow they are just beginning to do it and all they do is scan documents???? How about letting petitioners/beneficiaries input their information directly to an NVC online system? They could avoid so many stupid phone calls to the AVR completely and cut down on RFE's when people incorrectly fill out the forms. Also they could use an online chat system or have a prompt email response time. It would provide much better customer service and lower the manning requirements for phone operators. I'm sure a few extra dollars in fees could pay for the whole new setup.

Bottom line the current system is broken, ancient and horribly inefficient. Imagine if any business would operate in the same way? They would be bankrupt in no time.

I say keep calling until they can't take it anymore and are forced to modernize the process.

Yeah arcaica for sure. Their system or process needs a major overhaul. I dont however think excessive calling would do anything except give them reasons to hire more staff or adjust the reponse time lines, or give them an excuse for taking as long as they do because they would say ####### like we handle 34189237591834275145 calls a day...haha
