This is the next step: http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/EZGuideSpouse

You have to call NVC and be proactiveTM. I think you want to complete NVC process in 1.5 to 2 months time.:star:

Otherwise, NVC will contact you by regular snail mail for all communications and you will end up finishing NVC in 9 months.

I or we have not gotten our interview date with the US EMBASSY yet. I am hoping for NOV now that I missed Sept date.

For those who are married to Filipino ladies. I am also now finding out that the Philippine government has document requirements also other than having a current Passport. The ones that I became aware of recently are

- CFO

- CENOMAR

Are these required if your already married (CR-1)? Does anyone know of other documents that may be required? This is getting stupid...

Just read your post today, you can request for a copy online for the CENOMAR (they're gonna send you CEMAR 'coz you're married, i think it's proof of marriage or cerificate of current marriage or something) at https://www.ecensus.com.ph/Secure/frmIndex.asp and have it delivered to your wife instead of going to the office, which will take a whole day of waiting in line. You need that for the interview. CFO, I believe it's just a seminar that the Philippine government requires if they're migrating to the US, and that's AFTER the interview, once your wife get her visa. They're going to stamp her passport/visa proving that she attended that seminar.

Hope it helps..

Does anyone know if there is a specific supervisor or Tier 2 person at NVC? I was RFE'd for a certificate that I cannot find as being required in ANY documentation provided by NVC or USCIS. I am thinking it is a mistake, and the case has been forwarded for review, but if in fact they are looking for a specific document and it is not there, it may take a month or more to get. I need to get in touch with someone who can tell me exactly what they need, apparently, what I was told on the phone can mean many different things.

NVC doesn't have Tier 2 Humans

but

they do have Supervisors.

I have to assume you've not reviewed much in the September Thread -

because IF YOU DID -

you'd have learned 'how to ask'

for

an 'eyeball review' of yer documents.

Basically, call into NVC, get a Supervisor, and

request that Supervisor to request

an 'eyeball review'

of the document. Did ya catch that?

Yer requesting a human to request something, on yer behalf. It's a 2-layer thingie - this request process.

This '2nd look' can, or can not (depending)

clear up a lot of bull sh|t at NVC.

It really depends, on the document AND

the talents of the Human doing the 2nd review.

The Supervisor that you talk to, can request an 'eyeball review' based on

your phone call and

your input

but

You Must Call

and

You must be persuasive .

YOU = USCitizen , usually, not the foreign spouse, not the beneficiary.

------------------

Finally, NVC doesn't issue RFE's -

but

they do issue

'Checklist letters'

which, IMO, are functionally equivalent to an RFE at USCIS.

So -

IF you have 'checklist letter' via email or postal mail -

then

you must respond to it, in the format required, in the method promulgated (ya, I'm ex-f'ing military) to the address in the checklist letter.

Is possible that is some mix up - if you are following the procs over at http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/221785-ds-3032-slowdown/page__view__findpost__p__3560467 then it's possible that yer going too fast for NVC, and any checklist letter is generated because of it - ie - you completed AOS stuff and they dinged you on IV stuff, asking for 'petitioner info' or something similar - when in fact you've already paid for and sent in the IV stuff. It's a PITA, sure, but - the only way to skull-#### this NVC process is to call in, harrass/harry the NVC Humans to find yer stuff.

Good Luck, whatever the problem truly is.

Thanks for the input. I did in fact call yesterday, third time in 15 hours. did not specifically ask for a supervisor, but when the person told me that I needed a civil brazilian certificate, and was not specific about which one I informed them that I had contacted the embassy the night before and had already gotten a response from them, and they suggested I contact you because they only require 2 certificates and none is labeled as civil brazilian certificate! Immediately I was transfered to a supervisor, who must have done this "eyeball review". then the supervisor told me exactly what certificate they needed. gave me a website that you can go and get this online, then go and have it notorized, unfortunately the website she gave me could not be found! So I went back to the embassy instructions went to the section regarding the request for police certificates and physically copied and pasted them into an email to my wife.

Lesson learned: In Brazil you can apply for these certificates online, CAUTION: If the beneficiary doesn't specifically apply for the right certificate when completing the form, or it is not in the right format ( such as mine was ), it gets rejected at NVC. Stick to the proven methods and you won't have a problem! Do not use the internet to obtain a PCC, stand in line with the request form for the proper certificate!

as far as reading all of the guides and posts? Many times. The problem was I spent the day home with and injury-sickness day before when I found this wonderful news out. Until you have been in the position and the stress related to the weekend crunch to get things in the process before you cannot do anything but sit around and think about what they have "checklisted" yes, I did know the difference, but it is the same ( it is a request for missing or incomplete evidence to support your IV application, and it does stop the processing in its tracks just like at USCIS ) you cannot understand the sudden "brain dump" that has just occured! many experience it, usually on an approval, and not the other way around.

I'm sorry if you feel I took offense to this, but I'm not the type of person to make hundreds of posts asking the same questions over and over. I was in a time crunch yesterday, and needed an answer rapidly.

Thank you for your response.

Its Mumbai embassy, India.

I would focus first on Case Complete. Having said that I have been waiting 3 weeks without any appointment letter. I think it depends alot on when you can get your paperwork in and they perform their review. If possible have all you things in by the end of the month or first week of a new month then you may get your letter sooner. If you get it in like I did on the 13th then I have to wait longer ... That's what I think is going on but I am only guessing cause they never really tell you straight up ...

Even my case got completed on 13th sept. I m hoping to get a date in the 2nd week of oct or may be later ?

Normally, less than 2 months.
