what happens if you are self employed? when i say self employed i mean your own corporations? i am just sending them in my tax returns and as far as tax transcripts they can go to the IRS and verify it. my returns are adequate enough and they show all income. i was going to send my corporate returns also. what is an i864p then?

I have the same issue, but mostly I not pay myself any salary or partnership commission over the years - so I had no taxable income. Instead, what I did, was to take out a lump sum of cash, paid as income to myself (and paying the tax on it, also) and put it in the bank, under my name. IMO, my corporate returns are none of their business, at all.

I'm using CASH ASSETS on the I-864, with a letter of explanation for why on prior years I not filed personal income tax.

It's an anomoly, to be sure, but

IF you paid yerself W-2 income or 1099 income on the prior years, then you'll need to get the tax transcripts. IMO, the fastest way, is to get the IRS to fax it to you, same day, unless you want to go in to an IRS office and get it done face to face.

i didn't have w-2's. i had a schedule c income and income from the s corporations. i never did a w-2 and i paid the tax on all the money i received. so i will just send them my tax returns. i wont send them my corporation returns then.

Rich- As long as Line #22 says that you make enough to be a sponsor, you are fine. Tax returns work well too.

i am going to send copies of my corporate returns also. i am enclosing everything so they ahve it. they can check for themselves. last year for the fiance visa i did that also. i ahve no time to get the transcripts from the irs. i can go to the local office if i wanted to and get them but i don't want to stand on line there either. i am just sending my returns because last year i did this also. they want the transcripts if you don't ahve returns.

Rich, there is a Fax-back service with the IRS. Someone on here has done it. If you have access to a fax machine you can do that and have all your transcripts in an hour or so.

well everyone no IV bill yet. WHat goes in with the DS230 forms? after you send all this stuff in how long will it take from there? another 4 weeks?

Woo to the Hoo, I found NVC September peeps!!! Just got my NOA2 on September 16th and itching to get a move on! I've got all forms and documents ready to go. I did have one question though:

I was under the impression that I would get an alien number with my NOA2 to put onto my I-864. Turns out I didn't, is this normal? Is it just K1/K3 that get alien numbers with their NOA2?

It's 'normally' tied to 'ds-3032 added to the casefile'

wait a bit, then you'll see it pop up in the online payment portal.

it's NOT tied to AOS payment status, at all.

it varies, based on queue load at NVC

but

IF I were in yer shoes, I'd find out exactly how NVC schedules the interview (what time frames) for yer consulate,

then try to get all shovelled in, about 2 weeks prior to that 'scheduling week'.

Most probably, it will be deducted from your income to compute the modified income to compare against the poverty line threshold.

Ya - if the Feds have some payment 'arrangement' with you, then you'll be mostly OK - the amount won't be deducted on the I-864

but -

if it's an outright 'levy' or 'lien' without payment arrangements, then you'll have an 'adjustment' at the US Embassy on the I-864.

If you simply 'owe money' , without a 'levy' from the IRS, then yer actually OK - no 'adjustment' to be computed.
