None of us knows when we will die, so I don't think you can say how long you have left. You can go to a cemetery and see all ages represented there. The whole immigration process is ridiculous and is in dire need of an overhaul. Besides, how is keeping spouses apart important for national security? This is family friendly?

Of course I can not say exactly when my time will be up but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out a ball park time frame based on family history, living habits etc... Of course this does not take into account accidents or premature death. Yes young and old are both in Cemeteries but I think its a safe bet most are older... We all like to think this ride will never end but reality tells us different. I am not sweating it but I do recognize it. Thats why I retired at 57...so far no regrets but my sons inheritance is taking a beating...

Quick question (again :P ):

On the DS-230 it asks for other visas used. I was on a J1 in 2008 but the stamp was in my old passport. :( I have the Certificate of Eligibility that the USEM gave me when they issued the visa. Should I include it in the package? And if I do, should I write an explanation letter from my behalf for it??

Thanks in advance! :)

My grandmother just received her Case # from NVC, I understand that we can just e-mail NVC the Choice of Agent form, is their email NVCINQUIRY@state.gov current?

Please help me answer these quetions on I-864 I will list them by number on the form.

21. When calculating household size if you enter the number of persons you are sponsoring on line 21a it include your spouse if you then put 1 in line 21c you have entered them twice. Therefore do you leave 21c blank?

Part 3 question 9. I am sponsoring 2 stepkids that will immigrate at the same time. Question 9 says do not include any relative listed on a seperate petition. I have filed an I-130 for each my wife and 2 stepkids. Therefore do I list the kids on 9a and would I list the mother and sibling on the childs I-864? On line 10 if I add them I would then have the correct number of immigrants I am sponsoring which would be 3.

My I-130 was approved on 09-16-2010 when should I call NVC to receive a case#?

Thanks for the help and the invitation to this thread.

what happens if you are self employed? when i say self employed i mean your own corporations? i am just sending them in my tax returns and as far as tax transcripts they can go to the IRS and verify it. my returns are adequate enough and they show all income. i was going to send my corporate returns also. what is an i864p then?

Rich & Bey,

Just my 2 cents... I would recommend calling the IRS and getting your transcript. Its free and they did it in 10 days or less in my case. I say this because its simple they dont have all your other forms that you filed and they dont question Transcripts... So its the easy way in my view. I know you were not serious because you know they are not going to go check anything. If you can provide it that's on you. They could care less. If you personal returns cover you then your good. You might just put a letter of explanation together if you think it would further support your case. Didn't look into the I864P... :hehe:
