Has anyone with a case complete over the past few weeks heard anything about their interview appointment? I've been waiting about a week now and am just wondering why it takes so long to contact the embassy and make an appointment? I think my patience is shot after this whole ordeal. Thanks in advance.

I think this VISA gauntlet has tested everyone’s mental status. We have the same complete date. I have heard nothing either but remember, 5 days does not a week make. I did check the DHL courier tracking and a package was sent from NH to Manila on the Sept 14th and delivered to Manila on Sept 17 at 430 pm... Don’t know if my paperwork was in that package or not but see like it might be. I don’t know about the appointment being set but it seems to be taking about 2 weeks from what I have seen from others timelines...

This link will help you try to track what has left going to your country...

So the sequence is that the package goes out and then you get the email with the interview date? I thought NVC sets the date and then ships out the package. I'm told that the embassy in Tunis is not particularly busy so we're hoping for an interview in the not too distant future. Closure seems so close now and I'm truly at the end of my patience with this whole process. I hope that the spouse visa process is included in any immigration reform. Thanks for the help.

I think you get your email about the interview date first, after that by two days +/- you can track your package using DHL. Inshallah you will get your interview for October.

Quick question about DS-230, for #33 (educational isntitutions attended), I don't have enough space to write the whole name of the universities and then the location. Can I just write (please see attached sheet) to the 1st line and then type in a separate paper all the info? Thanks!

If it doesn't fit you really don't have much choice do you? You could write the name using an Acronym like UPLB and then prepare a letter as part of the cover letter explaining this and any other items that need clarification.

Thanks Tom! BTW, about the interview schedule. Does the NVC makes the appointment or do we have to call USEM Manila to be scheduled? I'm planning to speak to my employer about the vacation, at least 2 months before, to give them a head's up.

NVC makes the appointment but I would guess that they coordinate that with Manila... Yeah it would be a good idea to speak to your manager regarding your situation and desire to take a Vacation once you know when your interview will be scheduled. Good Luck hope its soon...

I am not sure I read some of the post on that link you gave me March2010 and it seemed that they were using dated near the completion date like that was when packages were sent; I am not sure on this issue and just guessing again based on what others posted. I certainly hope an Oct interview is in our future.

Has anyone with a case complete over the past few weeks heard anything about their interview appointment? I've been waiting about a week now and am just wondering why it takes so long to contact the embassy and make an appointment? I think my patience is shot after this whole ordeal. Thanks in advance.

usually, the sequence is

--case complete at NVC - but this is really 'documents complete' - all the documents have been added to the casefile, and the 'documents' are complete then it's

--final review - there's a queue for this - but it takes anywhere from 1 day to 6 weeks , depending on the queue then

--casefile lobbed into the 'available for interview queue' - this queue varies by embassy - many embassy interviews are scheduled the 2nd week of each month - some are not, some are 'insta-queue' as well - it would behoove you to learn just what the queue 'is' for yer Embassy.

--appointment scheduled (optional) - if NVC handles this for your Embassy

--casefile sent out to Embassy then

--interview date

so to get a 'case complete' at NVC, these days, is just another timetick in the events - it used to be that within 3 to 5 days of 'case complete' the final review would be completed as well. That's not the case these days, at all; due either to VOLUME AT NVC or extra scrutiny done during the final review process.

if you had a 'case complete' this week, or last week, I'm sorry to say, with the current LOAD at NVC, you've probably missed the window for getting scheduled, as the final review process is taking some time. Suggest you

--wait for next month and

--learn exactly how interviews are scheduled for yer Embassy.

Good Luck !

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Thanks to everyone for the information. It seems like the cases I've seen are getting their interviews assigned within a week of case complete, so I will try to remain optimistic. Six weeks more just to get the interview assigned is not something I want to think about right now...

i have a question...how long does it take usually at the nvc before they will generate the iv bill? i sent the ds 3032 thru email..

Usually within 3 days of the DS-3032 being added to the casefile.

Thanks to everyone for the information. It seems like the cases I've seen are getting their interviews assigned within a week of case complete, so I will try to remain optimistic. Six weeks more just to get the interview assigned is not something I want to think about right now...

I dunno, hammer - if you re-read my last response to you - you might glean that there are some action items for you to do, some new knowledge for you to acquire. If I were in yer shoes, I'd certainly be pro-active and 'do stuff' about my casefile, to learn more specifics.
