Ok everyone. Here is my first question to the great ones here.

I had my wife change her name and get a new passport with married name. Today my case was approved with her maiden name. I plan on sending her old cancelled passport biographic page and the new passport biographic page. Also plan on filling out the DS230 and I864 with the married name. Do i need anything else with it?

Nothing else. Please use her maiden name under 'Other names used' in DS-230.

I would guess lots of calls to NVC are silly and should not be made but people being what they are just clog down the system. Then those who have reasonable and legitimate issues have to wait because

Ok everyone. Here is my first question to the great ones here.

I had my wife change her name and get a new passport with married name. Today my case was approved with her maiden name. I plan on sending her old cancelled passport biographic page and the new passport biographic page. Also plan on filling out the DS230 and I864 with the married name. Do i need anything else with it?

I think you'll be OK with those two biographic data pages from the two passports - just remember there are specific places in the DS-230 to put that 'current name' from the new passport and then 'prior names' and/or aka names and 'otherwise known as' names as well.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

But But - mine's is current !

We're filing soonish - I may have mentioned before - but

I'm in China 6 months out of each year, to live with my wife. We are playing the 'wait for IR-1' game, and we not feel any rush to 'come to USA' . Soon though, will slam the huge file into the lockbox, see what happens... I'm also betting will be a big flush at USCIS after the FY rolls over..

HEy Darnell,

You might want to give everyone here a warning or heads up before you send in your package because is might slow down the system. :blink: I would also recommend using USPS Priority Mail as they have a flat rate for up to 75 lbs for the same price... Once you Pack age arrives they will most likely need to put half of their staff on it. haha . Bad New for those that follow...haha :rofl:

I think they issue PCC based on the last name on the current passport which is now her married name. But I hope they will cover the entired period from her age 16 to now, which is very important.

She can prepare a self affidavit, get it notarized and include it as well, just in case. May not be needed, but is a good idea.

WOW JD Paranoia strikes deep :unsure::hehe: ... I guess USCIS has you looking over your shoulder... :lol: I dont think you will have a problem there. I think I would ask for her maiden name to be used on the PCC as this one would show any record on her instead of her married name. The Marriage license and birth certificate can be use to tie it all together. Just my opinion...

Entire period - "The person listed in the PCC from age 16 to until now, has not been involved in any arrests, criminal convictions etc. or in other words there is no adverse record found during this period".

I think if other people from your state had no problems with the PCC similar to you, you will be ok.

Places she has live from 16 until now... I think thats what he meant John. India does things a little different so I am guessing, but dont understand why they make getting a PCC so difficult.

I tried to look at it logically and dont understand why they would use a new Married name when most of the time your wife was using her maiden name.

Well, see, the pack mule is gonna arrive, but not only is there the physical casefile on it's back, but some extra food for the mule, and then some additional snackies for the lockbox mailroom goons.

I don't expect to get the mule back, at all.
