Would a librarian for a religious library qualify for a r1 visa?

To get an r1 visa do you have to have some sort of degree or are experience and letters of recommendation good enough?

There is no special religious knowledge required in organizing religious or non-religious books in the collection.

The process to organize and catalog them is pretty much same.
