Anyone request their birth certificate after they were married? My wife requested hers after she was married and it was a black and white copy. Does not look like the original before she was married. Did the NVC accept your black and white copy?

Thanks

My husband requested his birth certificate after we were married so that we could register our marriage at the consulate. (The first step in having our marriage legally recognized in Brasil). The copy he received was black and white. We did not need it for AOS as we have his original, but I believe the black and white copy would work fine for you. It has the same information. I think they don't provide those old fashioned copies anymore. They just take the information from a book of records and input it into a document that prints out as a birth certificate. Also, when we went to register at the consulate, they accepted it no problem.
