Okay ladies and gents,

2 questions:

Do you think that the 90 day work authorization is really worth it? (ie out of the way airport) possible con - you might have to quit your job after 90 days  ; pros - might get you experience, etc.

AND

Has anybody here actually received the 90 day stamp AND managed to get their EAD within those 90 days? (Is that even possible?!) I'm kinda seeing it as a challenge...I don't know!

okay..third question (i lied) ...do potential employers frown on 90 days? what if you told them you'll get a more permanent one in the near future  ...or do most not buy that?

My husband got the 90 day work authorization and worked for 10 weeks and will have the same job once he gets his EAD. So I would say it is work with. My husband said that he thinks it was worth it. It gave him something to do during the day.

Yeah, I think I'm gonna go for JFK. And I've been reading around here that I guess you can work on an expired 90 day work authorization as long as you filed for AOS and EAD.

This information is not correct for the work authorization you get from the POE.

neptune,

I'm not sure what you mean by this - the "90 day stamp" is an acceptable EAD.

Yodrak

....

Has anybody here actually received the 90 day stamp AND managed to get their EAD within those 90 days? ....

neptune,

Depends on how lax the employer is in complying with the law that they document your EA status. They're not supposed to let you work if your EA has expired.

Yodrak

... I've been reading around here that I guess you can work on an expired 90 day work authorization as long as you filed for AOS and EAD.

frndly,

It's not correct for any employment authorization - an employer is not supposed to have people working who are not employment authorized, and a person whose employment authorization has expired is not employemnt authorized (until application for new or renewal authorization has been approved).

Yodrak

This information is not correct for the work authorization you get from the POE.

neptune,

Which post in the thread are you referring to?

Keep in mind that the interpretation of the law that 'counts' for any particular person is their employer's interpretation. Employers are the ones charged with implementing the EA verification laws, not USCIS employees and not VJers.
