the courts issues notarized copies and the secretary of state can do the apostle for 5 bucks. might just take the old Harley for a ride and have them done while I wait since there is an option for that also.

We got married in Ukraine in July 2009. So, a year ago the only requirement was the paper from the US Consulate in Kyiv that USC is free for marriage. We paid about $30 for it, then legalized it in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and had it translated into Ukrainian. Also You need the Bio page of your passport to be translated. Tell your future wife to go to the Oblastnoy RAGS for the consultation on the marriage with the foreigner, and she will be told everything what you two need to do. Best wishes!

We were married last April and going through the visa process now. I became frustrated at the process in Ukraine and my wife handled everything in Ukraine. I do remember the process. I only had to give one bribe and it was not expensive to avoid the 30 waiting period after the marriage license was given. The US embassy website has a good explanation of the process and also I found a list of certified translators. I scanned and emailed my docs to the translator. She prepared her translations and then I gave her originals when I met with her. If you want I could intro your fiance to my wife and they can discuss the procedure.
