Hi everyone. I am flying with LOT next month from Romania to US. I am taking my pet also, and because it's a small dog, i made arrangements so i can take her with me in the cabin. When looking on LOT website, i can see the maximum dimensions they allow for dog carriers, practically they are interested in making sure the carrier will fit under the seat, which is my main concern also. The problem with that is, that i looked everywhere for a carrier that would not exceed 20cm in width, however i can't seem to find any.All the carriers i found on the market have about 25, 26 cm in width.I know it is not a huge difference, but do you think 5 more cm. will give me any trouble? Any of you that flew your pet with LOT, what measurements of the carrier did you have? Any of you that noticed other carriers around you in the plane also can share your input on this? Is that space under the seat so tiny? :help:

Lol, fortunately not. She needed a bunch of documents though, passport, microchip and other stamps, mostly because EU rules.

You are flying Tarom or Blue to Bucharest first? Sotia mea flew many times around europe and Cluj-Bucharest and every time Tarom or Blue Air was playing games with the bag size and weight... They make her pay OR put the bag in "check" or under the plane. Her carry-on bags were NOT over weight or over size.

The key is to use a soft-sided carrier, not one that is made out of hard rigid plastic. Then, even if the carrier is a little wider or a little taller then the "recommended" dimensions, you still shouldn't have any trouble making it fit under the seat.

Many airlines post the dimensions for their smallest planes. Check if you can find what plane(s) they used for that flight and then try to find the specs for those specific planes. International flights tend to use bigger planes.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.
