Consulate rescheduling interview repeatedly?

How common is it for the consulate to reschedule an interview appointment? I don't think I've seen someone mention this happening to them on here. My fiance has gotten a call TWICE this week from the consulate to reschedule him. His interview was pushed back two days, then another day. It's making me nervous that he's gonna be pushed back even further, since they're already doing this when it's still two weeks away. :unsure:

I had heard that the embassy was very busy right now, but what the? I'm just annoyed and frustrated. :( We had such issues with the police cert and the medical that I just want this to be over. And we were planning on him coming on Sept 22 (don't worry, no tickets bought yet...just REALLY want that day).

Anyone else going through Dublin or had this happen elsewhere?

I'm the USC petitioner.

03/15/2010 K-1 NOA1

05/27/2010 K-1 NOA2

09/10/2010 K-1 Interview

09/22/2010 POE

10/01/2010 Wedding

12/22/2010 EAD/AP Approved

04/05/2011 AOS Approved - no interview

04/09/2011 Green Card received

01/24/2013 ROC NOA1

06/28/2013 ROC Approved - no interview

08/19/2014 N-400 NOA

12/06/2014 N-400 Interview

01/09/2014 Naturalization ceremony

My husband is now a US Citizen! Our journey is over!

London was really bad for that back in June / July. Could have been something to do with the school holidays? Then again, if people get sick and things like that it's beyond their control. I guess it depends on how many staff members they will have working each day. Sorry, that's not entirely helpful to you. Just wanted to let you know it's not just Dublin. I hear that Montreal is also terrible to get through.

Did you tell them your proposed travel date? London was pretty good about trying to arrange interviews based on travel so Dublin might be too.

Can't speak in regard to Dublin, but Guayaquil (Ecuador) is known for pulling fast ones, such as calling the beneficiary at 8:30 a.m. -- on the day of an agreed-to afternoon interview -- to say "You're rescheduled. Get yourselves in here at 10:30 or you won't be interviewed." Pure evil.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Thanks guys. I'm gonna have my fiance call the embassy to see what the deal is.

TBone, I'll be thankful I'm not going through Guayaquil!
