You pretend to be open minded but you really aren't. The imams comments on 9/11 are at best vague. Why are you making a wild assumption about his deepest beliefs based on a soundbite?

They weren't and Im not going to fall for his political cowardly approach. Hell the guy wouldnt call Hamas a terrorist organization either. Do you want to make excuses for that to madhouse?

The context being that you tried to compare the two when it was apples and oranges.

They're parallels, not comparisons. Must we also have 3 days of you not getting it here either?

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

Nice try Hal. Your comment about pot meeting kettle makes it a comparison.

Depends do you want to spend the next 3 days coming up with convoluted answers?

Furthermore, for more context:

"I wouldn't say that the United States deserved what happened, but the United States policies were an accessory to the crime that happened," Rauf told CBS' Ed Bradley in that interview. Pressed to explain the "accessory" comment, he replied: "Because we've been accessory to a lot of innocent lives dying in the world. In fact, in the most direct sense, Osama bin Laden is made in the U.S.A."

I do not agree with the Imam's POV in this interview (before Simpson starts off on another hacked rant about liberals and terror sympathies) in that the only people that Al Qaeda is directly a result of US policy, is in their own minds- although US policy is indirectly and partially responsible for the perception of these terrorists that the US is a target. Our history of dabbling in Middle Eastern affairs against local interests is what causes this indirect effect. Get over it if you think effects arise spontaneously.

Don't know- its up to you to be obtuse or not. (= not get it)

Definitly a lot of drama in in this paragraph. When did I say that liberals were terrorist sympathizers? I took issue with the blame America first crowd. Lets not forget how this began. I took issue with Imam's comments and you went on the 'it didnt happen in a vacuum' point of view. Why? Was it not enough to say you didnt agree with his point of view without feeling the need to give us a history lesson.

You mean, 'where did I misread' (again)? On the flipside, who is blaming America first? You are way too sensitive to criticism... not cool. Time for that break?

I know you have a hard time with accepting history (reality) for what it is... and how different people interpret it differently (thusly valid to them)... but seriously... why dig yourself a hole you can't climb out of over and over?

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

Only in their minds? You do know that - in the context of the cold war in the late 1970's and 1980's - foreign insurgent jihadists in Afghanistan, among them one Osama Bin Laden, did enjoy the assistance of the US government, yes?

Wow your resorting to that, OK when did you read that I said that liberals were terrorist sympathizers???

Your response answered nothing. It was more of a attack the messenger approach.

A lot of people know our history in the middle east and dont need to be reminded of it every time somebody claims that we are not to blame for 9/11.

I love how you guys try to tout this info as if you are the select few that know this. Simply pathetic.
