When my husband got home tonight he asked me how I liked our new sign. I said 'What sign?" He said, 'in the yard". I went to look, and there at the front of our yard was a sign in our front garden that read "Most Beautiful Yard of the Month"! Each month the residents in our community can vote for the yard they feel is the most beautiful in each of the different neighbourhoods - and surprise! We won the August yard of the month for our neighbourhood! The sign will be up there for a month - I guess that means we better keep the grass mowed and the garden weeded!

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Ok, I hope this works. It isn't a great shot and shows the mow lines on the yard where the yard is still recovering from our drought, but the canna lilies show up well. The garden closer to the house has circlets of daylilies with a back border of azaleas and side borders of red hot pokers around a central curved triangle of iris. The camera battery died before I could do anything but the 'long shot' and it got dark before the battery was charged.

Ok Kathryn. This is for your husband.

Wait for it to load and then endure the commercial. It's worth it.

Joe wants to know if that dog can start this Saturday!
