Documents required for I-129F K3 visa

I first sent in an I-130 applicaton for spouse along with the required documentation, marriage certificate, biometrics, photos, etc.

One month later, I sent in the I129-F applicaton with a copy of the I-130 NOA-1 receipt and a copy of the marriage certificate only and subsequently received a NOA-1 for the I129F

Is the I-130 and the I-129F processed independently?

If yes, can I just send the California service center the additionaly information such as the biometrics, divorce certificates, etc and a copy of the I-129F NOA-1 or do I need to wait until they ask for the additional information?

as of February 2010, the K-3 spousal visa option is for the most part administratively obsolete.... I would not expect that you would be given the opportunity to pursue a K-3, so I would not worry about your I-129F and concentrate and learn the I-130/CR-1 process and get ready for it

YMMV

Hey ! please read this - http://www.visajourney.com/news/2010/02/07/department-of-state-to-close-k-3-visas-if-i-129f-and-i-130-petitions-approved-and-received-together/

and then let us know yer thoughts?

FWIW, if you were hoping for any K-4, a derivative visa for spouse's child or children, you need to file an I-130 for each child, nowish.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

I just called USCIS about this last week and here is my understanding. Sometimes the I-129F is processed faster than the I-130, so if the I-129F is processed first, they will issue your spouse a K-3 visa. If the I-130 is processed first and sent to the NVC, then you don't need the K-3 because they will instead issue your spouse an IR visa. So I ASSUME (but don't know for sure) that both forms are processed independently. I don't know what that means for the rest of your questions, though. Hope that helps.

USCIS doesn't issue visas. They also don't close the I-129F, NVC does. Also, for years now the I-129F and I130 have been approved on the same day. the K-3 hasn't been faster in many years.

Both forms are not processed independently anymore. They are matched up together and have been for years

Good luck

I believe the underlings at USCIS just read the script they are given.

Fact of the matter is, almost all K-3 applicants on VJ have had their I-130 and I-129F approved simultaneously. Check it out for yourself here

here

NOA2 date for 130 and 129F is the same in most cases.
