I'm suffering right along with you. I applied on March 15th for the I-130 (no touch since March 24th) and on April 14th for the K-3 (no touch since 7/26). I feel like the people that applied between March and May are not a priority for USCIS and I find that extremely irresponsible and unfair since it was THEIR screw up and not ours!

P.S. Our significant others are both from Venezuela, so we should compare interview experiences once we finally do get approved!! Best of luck to you!!

City: California/Bayern - Filed K-1 from China Filed: Lift. Cond. (pnd) Country: Germany
Timeline

Filed on March 14, IMBRA RFE received July 21. Still waiting....

I am living in China with my German fiancee (long story). Hoping to move back to the US in January, but it looks like that plan is dead. I am supposed to be transferring my job back to the US, but my company is starting to get nervous with all of these delays.

If my company decides not to continue my job in the US because of these delays, I am going to sue the USCIS for lost wages. As our immortal member Ric Flair would say.......Wooooooooo!

Venezuelan fiancees do rule, but it's even better once you're married!!

Btw, I know the wait is very long, but take it from experience, that it is best that you're waiting to get married in the US instead of in Venezuela. Although the US is taking a long time to give visas, Venezuela has closed their visa department in the country. I came to Venezuela in February on a tourist visa and then got married. I've been renewing my tourist visa within the country, but if I leave Venezuela I won't be allowed back in and that means my husband and I won't be able to see each other until he gets his K-3 visa. Ridiculous, but this is the effect of nasty international politics!

I did not know that Jobster!!! i do not have that problem though, I have double nationality (venezuelan/american), the problem I have is the fortune I am spending each time i go. Are they really asking for the visa when you get to Venezuela? I have seen several american just present their passport and go...In any case, yes, that is the problem with nasty international politics..

Hi Ivasquez. As far as I know you don't need a tourist visa to get into Venezuela. My problem was that since I've been in Venezuela so long waiting for my husband's visa, I've used up the amount of days I'm allowed to be in Venezuela as a tourist (which is 180 days). I got an extension while I was here, so I can stay 270 days, but that is running out quickly. If I leave to visit home for a couple of weeks and try to get back into Venezuela they'll deny me entry because I can't enter as a tourist again. I'd have to enter on visa de transeunte. The problem is that I can't get that visa anywhere, even though that is my right by being married to a Venezuelan citizen. I even tried to go through the Venezuelan consulate in Brazil and in New York City and they both said that they couldn't give it to me either!

Anyway, since you're a Venezuelan citizen too, are you going to apply for your fiancee's immigrant visa, once you're married, directly at the US embassy in Caracas? This is another reason I've been trying to get my visa de transeunte. If you can prove your US citizenship and your Venezuelan residency you can apply for the I-130 directly at the embassy and it only takes two months to get the immigrant visa, where as if you are planning on applying for Adjustment of Status in the US, I think it's approximately a 6 month wait.

What part of Venezuela are you from?

I will not file an immigrant visa, she will come here with the k-1 and we will get married in the US (at least that is the plan...). I was told that the k-1 was the better option, with this whole IMBRA fiasco i agree with you that the I-130 sounds like a better idea. At this point I have no choice but to wait for the K-1 approval....

I am from Caracas...
