Look it up.

You can find plenty of cases of more qualified whites being taken for less qualified blacks.

While this might be cool/slide by ok in certain areas, education should not be one of them.

Look it up where? The statistics I could find on this subject where not exactly spelling it out for me. The most practical table I saw was a table that gave the graduation rates broken down between white and black for the top 30 rated Universities. On average, black students out performed white students by a few percentage points. However, in and of itself that doesn't tell us much more than the fact that black students are getting as good and slightly better results than white student. Perhaps you can provide links to these cases of better qualified white students being rejected for the less qualified black students?

That's the textbook definition of "affirmative action". Whenever affirmative action is used, a better qualified white (or Asian) person is rejected for a less qualified minority person.
