does he have his 2009 tax return? maybe he could email it to you? I know that we did ours online and you can print it out through the site you used. Or even if he had it professional done, he could maybe scan and email it to you? or fax it to you?

or get IRS to fax the 2009 paperwork to him and then get him to scan it and email it or fax it to you.

to my knowledge they are definitely going to want to see the 2009 tax transcript or tax return

Do you have the tax transcripts for 2008? I was asked for the 2009 transcript at my interview, but if you have last year's, it will be better than none... When is your interview? If you have time, you could get it sent, it takes about 2 weeks to get... At least you have the W2 for this year.

I would try to get the 2009 one, but if you don't have time then there's not much you can do about it, but 'breathe'...

Good luck!

No I have no time. I leave for Vancouver on Tuesday. Can it be a fax copy?? Does it have to be an original? If it can be a fax copy I think I can solve it.

Well the IRS sends it through fax when needed so I believe a fax copy will do for them.

Thanks!! I'm breathing still... lol. There should be a reward for getting through this with your sanity in tact.

I think a copy is okay. If your fiance has forms from TurboTax or whatever, that can probably be provided too. We gave them copies of the TurboTax forms, tax transcripts from the IRS for the last 3 years, a letter from his employer, 6 months of paystubs, and photo copies of his bank statement from a couple months back showing the balance (we weren't using assets to qualify). If you can get a photocopy before you go, great. If not, there's not much you can do to change that now so just explain it to the Consular officer if they ask. In my experience the Vancouver staff are very understanding and they understand people get nervous trying to make sure they've got everything they need. As long as you show you've made an effort to include as much as possible and are trying to give them what they need, that works in your favor.
