Travel/departure record never recorded by INS

Hey VJ! I need some of your excellent help for my fiance, who entered the USA on the K-1 visa on June 25th.

He applied for his SSN on July 13th but wasn't in the system, so he ended up getting manual verification. Well, it's been 5 weeks with no udpates, so we called the local social security office and they said his travel and depature record was never recorded by the INS, which means they still have no information on file. They said that their last checkup was the 12th of August 2010!

What can be done to get his information in the system? Should I make an infopass appointment for him? We are planning on getting married September 10th, and his I-94 expires September 23rd.

I don't know if it makes a difference, but his POE was at Dublin and was uneventful. Thank you all!

5/22/2015 - Oath ceremony - Now a US citizen!!!!!!

You might try having a supervisor check the SAVE database and seeing if they can find him in there. Failing that, an infopass appointment may be your best bet if he can't get back to the POE with his I-94 to have them fix it.

Go to any immigration inspection station ( big airport usually ) and ask to talk to a supervisor. Tell them your record seem to be bad and you would like them to verify it was entered properly. They have the ability to fix it.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

Hi NigeriaorBust - that sounded like a really great idea, so I called CBP at my local airport (O'Hare) to double confirm we can do that, and they were extremely rude and unhelpful. They told me since his flight pre-cleared in Dublin that we need to call England (yes, they said England, not Ireland), and then hung up on me! I guess I'll just have to go there with my fiance in person.
