My wife was told that her visa was aprooved durring the interview process however we did not recieve any form or letter stating that we hab been aprooved is this normal or should I be worried?

Did your wife get a pink/blue slip? Did the officer tell her it is "Administrative Processing"?

she did not recieve any paperwork only told that her visa was appoved and that she could pick it up in a week from domesa....

Since your interview was completed a month back, I would recommend to talk to the Consulate or the agent (if any) who delivers the passport, for follow up.

Not all consulates get a pink or blue slip. In Montreal you genearlly just get an 'everything looks fine" and you have to ask if you have an approval. So I'm not sure how it works at the consulate you're dealing with. But I agree with Loto, get in touch with a congressman or the consulate to see what the hold up is

we were given provisional approoval at the interview they kept her passport and we were told to pay Domesa but that the consul would attempt to obtain a record we needed and that if she was able to secure it for us we would need to bring it to her which my wife did last week. when she turned the record in she was told that the visa was approoved and that she could pick it up in a week however she did not recieve form saying that it was approoved....

It does depend on the consulate. And to echo Canadian Wife's comments, I was told 'everything looks good' and she simply handed me a welcome to the USA letter with a yellow highlighted COPY across it. She said not to worry about that.

When my passport came back to me with all the other documentation, there was the same Welcome to the USA letter in there and also my passport and brown envelope package that was to remain unopened until I crossed the border and gave it to CBP.

I guess other embassies are giving out slips.

OK thanks to all who responded... I also emailed the consulate to make sure and this is the response that I recieved that seems to indicate that they do not issue any formal approval letter @ the Consulate in Bogota. I have to say that I am impressed with the way they respond to questions via email.
