It basically is just making sure you have met, right? By the time we apply, we will have lived together for 6 months, and therefore have TONS of evidence. I read it's generally taking around 5-6 months. But we have to sell my fiance's house before he can move over. Just curious... :)

It varies depending on what service center your app will go to, and which country the beneficiary is in. This will give you some idea: http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/k1list.php?op6=All&op7=United%20Kingdom&dfile=No&op1=&op2=&op3=&op4=1&op5=5%2C6%2C8%2C10%2C11%2C13%2C14%2C15%2C16%2C17%2C18%2C20%2C21%2C22%2C25%2C26%2C27%2C28&cfl=0

Besides that, once the visa is approved, you have 6 months to use it. If you need time to sell a house, that's probably the best time to do it.

It depends on many variables, so looking at the quickest case isn't really going to help you out that much.

But if you aren't living in the US now, you need to start thinking about what you're going to do if the question of domicile comes up. Not being able to prove domicile wouldn't be a good thing.

Timeline

The process times change all the time so there's no point in looking into the shortest, I'd look for the process times for now. Not just the times for Vermont but also the times for London. At the minute London is on the slow side for scheduling interviews.

On another note, from the last time I've searched the timelines on here, I have the shortest process for London K-1s. Took 91 days from the day we sent the I-129f to the interview day.

I wish you the best of luck.

Thanks for the link.

I'm not filing until I am back in the States. So no problem there. It will go to Vermont.

You can no longer be certain which service center will process your petition. They are now sent to Texas for "intake" and forwarded to Vermont or California as the intake center sees fit.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...

We're going through London and it'll be 104 days from NOA1 when he has his interview. The NOA2 only took us 22 days with no touches or RFE's. It took 2 days for the NVC to get our case, then 2 days to send it on, 1 week for London to log it in and send out Packet 3. Peter received Packet 3 one week later, and sent the forms back 2 hours later. It took London 2 weeks to log in his forms and another 2 days to schedule the interview. As soon as we knew London had received our case and mailed Packet 3 he scheduled his medical, and had the P3 letter in hand in time to take it with him. I also sent him all of our paperwork, filled out and organized in a file, prior to him getting P3, so they were ready to go as soon as he received it.

That's not COMMON, and we weren't expecting it to go this quickly, but are happy it has.

Plan on about 4 months minimum, and maybe you'll get lucky and get it faster.

Congratulations, and good luck!
