Look at this users timelines @ NVC. Why would it take her about 6 months at NVC?

NVC ~CR-1 Visa~ Journey

2010-02-01 : NVC case # assigned

2010-02-05 : DS-3032/AOS Bill Generated

2010-02-07 : DS-3032 e-mailed; AOS/I-864 Bill (paid online $70)

2010-02-12 : e-mailed DS-3032 accepted by NVC

2010-03-05 : Sent In Completed I-864

could have done this on 02/11/2010, IMO, as the barcoded coversheet would have been available by then

2010-03-15 : IV Fee bill generated, paid online $400

2010-06-17 : Sent In Completed DS-230 Packet (took forever to get PCC and BC)

another lag for sending in the DS-230 packet

2010-06-18 : DS-230 Signed for by NVC

2010-06-23 : AVR updates "The checklist letter response has been received. Wait 6-8 weeks and you will be notified.

checklist letter response - was a real one? or a false one? many times, is a false 'checklist letter response

2010-08-06 : Sign in Failed: Finally

2010-08-10 : AVR updates "The case was complete on August 9..."

2010-08-13 : NVC e-mailed an interview date for September 2 2010 9AM

PCC - Police Clearance Certificate

BC - Birth Certificate

The beneficiary has to get all these documents when the case is finished at USCIS and entered into NVC in order to avoid delay.

They made another 1 month delay not to send AOS I-864 (Affidavit of Support) after the acceptance of DS-3032.

Totally, 4 months delay by the applicant. Otherwise, their NVC process would have been completed in 2 months.

In a perfect world, an aggressive NVC applicant can finish everything in less than 1 month time. There is a slight delay in NVC now-a-days, due to the "clog", but it would add up only a month delay.

Bottom line: Be 'proactive' with NVC than 'reactive' :star:

Good Advice Loto.. Appreciate your help.. Still Waiting for my NOA2 to arrive. I'm gonna be heading to India in 3 weeks to see my Wife. Hopefully it will come before that, so I can get the NVC process rolling before I leave.

Thanks Loto. Originals meaning PCC and BC? Someone told me not to get PCC until you are asked for it cuz it only has 6 Months validity. Any other documents I should bring back from there?

If I were you, I would have gathered PCCs (from local police station and from Passport office) as well, since your NOA1 is April. You will have interview (be aggressive with NVC :star: ) before the next 6 months period.

Please don't bring her Passport, only passport's first page that has photo and signature.
