Borocay is a tourist attraction. I wanted to go there but did not find the time. This website lists some popular places: Borocay.

You should be safe as long as you practice common sense traveling rules. I think what Psoas10 is referring to is not to go into unknown places alone. When traveling to a foreign country there is always a risk factor.

There is an Americano price and Filipino price in many instances like cabs, non chain stores, etc..

Boracay is one of the premiere tourist spots in the Philippines, visited by both foreigners and locals alike.

While generally safe, take the usual precautions. Be careful with your money. Don't flash large amounts of cash. Use the hotel safe if there's one. Avoid accepting drinks from strangers that you didn't see prepared by the bartender. Etc.

As for companionship, there are quite a number of bars and nightspots that are there. But since October is the low/rainy season, odds are there will be fewer tourists compared to the Philippine Summer/High Season.

Also, remember this is a vacation spot for Pinoys. So make sure the person you're approaching is truly single and receptive (e.g. no men in her group or she's by herself). I've actually seen fights start because a single guy's approached someone's girlfriend/fiance/wife in Boracay.

My advice is to either meet someone online before you go to the Philippines or spend a few days trying to meet someone and then bring her with you.

Try to meet some one online first. I went to the phil. & my opinion is I would not like to go there alone. Man, so many girls online would love to be your tour guide.

Good Answer

I suggest you go to Davao, and hang out at some markets, malls, shops and nightspots. Meet yourself a few girls. Remember you will be a hot commondity in the Philippines.

Meet many, I suggest about 3 girls per day and hire another person to hang with you to do your texting. Buy a sim card for each girl you meet and that way you can keep up with each girl and will not get them confused.

I would shy away from people who on the internet looking for love (Cherry Blossom, Flippina Heart, Craigslist), there is plenty of single girls in PI that dont' advertise on the net.

I travel to PI alone a few times, never had any issues.

BORACAY IS SUPER SAFE. i lived there for 10 months. the locals there are friendly and never steal. only the people coming are the ones who pollute and steal from other people.. specially during holy week.. there are so many people coming from different parts of the Philippines...

how long do you intend to stay in boracay?

upon flying to boracay.. try flying in thru seair.. it's the only airline that flies u directly to CATICLAN and not to KALIBO.. Kalibo is 2 hours away from Caticlan. Caticlan is where the jetty port where you ride on a boat to get to Boracay. It's only a 5 minute boat ride.

Upon arriving to Boracay.. there's a tricycle line.. pay Php100.00 (fixed) and get to where u want to stay. if you want to be around a lot of people stay at the WHITE BEACH station 2.

FYI -- boracay does not only have 1 beach (white beach)... most people think it only has 3 stations... the most famous beach in boracay is white beach.. which has 3 stations.. station 1 2 and 3... but there are many other beaches there like Bolabog.. Tambisaan... Puka Beach...

the famous HEY JUDE bar is no longer found at the white beach station 2.. u can find it at bolabog beach...

also. try finding the JUNGLE BAR BORACAY... that's another cool chill out place.. :)

JUICE BAR IS A GOOD PLACE FOR PARTYING AS WELL!! :)

Go to Davao and pick you out a few chicks, then take the girl or girls you like to Boracay.

Last time I was in Davao I partied till the sun came up and never saw the bar stop selling beer, as long as I had cash in hand I had cold beer in hand......

that must have been a decade ago! coz the liquor ban has been there for more than 6 yrs... Davao resident here! ;)

the mayor's pretty strict.. a couple of months ago.. he raided bars at 3am... closing them down.. and have them pay fines.. for serving alcohol after 2am. :)

but davao is sooo good right now with the kadayawan festival!! durian cost only Php35.00 per kilo! :)

the street dance is awesome.. sad that i didn't get to be in this year's kadayawan festival.. but i was there last year...

look at my pic below!! :)
