The whole idea of having water spraying in an area I am trying to get dry makes me a little wierded out. I usually just grab a handful of water and pour it over myself if I go #1 and dry it with toilet paper, but if I go #2 I take a complete shower. We use a ton of water in my house! Maybe I'll talk to my husband about getting one.

Dang taking a complete shower after a #2 is a bit much! What happens when you're not at home and you gotta do a #2?

I wipe with TP then use water then dry off with TP.

I usually keep a plastic cup in the WC for that purpose.

My husband and his mother taught me to take a shower after #2 so that's why I do it. When I have to go and I am not at home I wipe with TP and then use water and then TP again. But I mostly try to only go when I am at home.

Oh and then there is the "hole in the floor". I got to meet one of those in the Ramses train station. Mohammed laughed himself to tears. I shrugged and said it's no different then when you're out in the woods and have to go. Get over it. Pfft

Ok...first ya tell me I have to squirt water on me, which I know will make me just go again.....now they don't have toilets?

I'm not wicked old here but if I had to squat every time I think my knees would take a beating!! :hehe:

Wadi has never expressed any desire for a bidet. In fact, I think I would appreciate it more than he would. We had one in our apartment in Italy and he only used it to wash his feet!

No worries..most homes have normal toilets. However, some of those toilets are broken and don't flush..like the ones at my inlaw's. First time I was there I was terrified to do a #2 cuz I didn't know how I was gonna get rid of the "evidence". Mohamed told me to take the bucket, fill it with water, throw it in the toilet...tada... poop is gone!

Here is a photo of a turkish toilet. Although Hachemi's home had a normal toilet, I had the opportunity to use a "hole in the floor toilet" 2 or 3 times while i was in Algeria. Not a fun experience.

Wadi's family's home only has this sort of toilet. That was one of the hardest things for me when I was visiting. He says that's one thing he definitely does not miss!

she's a mix.. pit/chow/lab (mainly lab) nothing is wrong with her..just my husband and my son don't like her and she deserves to have a happy home. I can't afford to install a fence or buy a kennel to put her outside so my only other option is to find a good home for her.... she loves kids and loves to play fetch... loves to be loved...she even bows to you when you ask her if she needs to go outside...

That is really tough. My daughter considers our dog to be her best friend, and since she is an only child she devotes a lot of time to him.

If she looks mainly lab, see if there is a lab rescue near you. They will sometimes take mixed breeds. Rescue clubs will usually scutinize the people who adopt, so you could feel confident she was getting a good home. Your vet may be able to help too. Petfinder.com has a search feature to find local shelters and rescue groups.
