VJ OT has had its share of unpleasant arguments over the years. Luckily, should moderation choose to do so, they already have the means at their disposal to take care of the problem.

TOS prohibits comments, "either direct or implied toward another member that are purposely designed to upset, antagonize, make fun of, belittle, or otherwise instigate an argument that takes away from the personal enjoyment of the Service by other users."

The next time I post a thread about that freakin mosque in NYC, kill it. And suspend me. It should be clear by now that a thread of that nature will instigate an argument which will take away from the personal enjoyment of the Service by other users. That is simply not beyond debate. A thread on that topic is a clear violation of TOS, given the past history of similar threads.

The same argument applies for election threads closer to November. They will be rancorous, they will be argumentative. And given the political diversity that exists on VJ, the arguments those thread instigate will take away from the personal enjoyment of the Service by other users.

One last example: Sarah Palin threads. Same logic applies. They should be prohibited from being posted on OT and posters should be suspended. That they violate TOS is clear.

I don't even see why members need to report them. You can see the title right there in front of you. If it sounds like it might start an argument that some users may not enjoy.... it's a violation of TOS.
