I was just wondering when you file for the IR-1/CR-1 do you have to deal with the Montreal Consulate or does the Vancouver Consulate deal with this type of Visa too?

Thanks C&A

Okay thanks! So is that where the interview would take place then? As much as I read on all this visa stuff, I still find it very confusing.

Yup, Montreal is the only consulate in Canada that does the immigrant visa processing.

Sadly, they are woefully behind/short staffed and interviews seem to take forever to be scheduled.

Good luck with everything!

P.S. you should try to fill in your timeline, it'd help alot for when you need some help or information

Alright thanks! That is slightly ridiculous, seeing as I live on the West Coast :( I don't have much of a timeline yet, as we are really still in the process of trying to figure out where we want to get married, either here in Canada or down in the USA.(However we do know that we would like to reside in the USA). We like the idea of getting married here because I have a large family, most of which probably wouldn't be able to travel if we got married somewhere other then here in Canada. I mean clearly all the different Visas have their pros and cons, as does where we should get married. I guess its just really deciding which is best for us.

Thanks Again
