Hey guys and gals! I have a few questions filling out my DS-230 form.

I am the Wife trying to Immigrate to the USA.

On page 2, Part 33. It says for me to list all educational Institutions I have attended. Is this just Universities/Colleges? Or does it include my High, Middle and Grade school?

____

Also, for Page 2, Part 35. By visits does it mean just visits by VISA? I have visited the states many times for 2 weeks at a time throughout the past 3 years. But I also visited in November 2009 on a 'I-94 A' , the returned this July 2010.

Also on my I-94 A card I received at the border before I crossed, I do not see an "A" number on it. Would I put NONE into the field beside the type of visa?

Here is a picture of the card I was given when I crossed.:

(Is there an A# on this?)

___

Last one! On Page 4, Part 42, I don't think there is enough space for me to write in the reason why I was refused into the states. Or could I just keep it basic like this?:

"I was refused because the border thought of me being a possible immigrant because of my relationship status with my now husband, and our wedding was in three weeks from that date we tried to enter."

Thank you for any and all help in this! I really appreciate it!

On your question 1, I entered everything for my spouse, from nursery till she was done with school. I am not sure if they just mean high school or college/university...

On your second question, perhaps you can document it and attach it to the form in a separate paper; same with your last question. Your verbiage to answer the last one is confusing, this might definitely trigger a request for evidence or some such thing. I would use an additional sheet of paper and attach it to the form. Have several people read it to see if its clear and stick to the truth.

Where am I at in the process? :

-Oath Ceremony scheduled for Feb 7, 2014 (scheduled late by request)

-Successful Citizenship interview, Dec 11, 2013

-fingerprint appointment, Oct 24, 2013

-applied for Citizenship, Sep 2013

-received 10 year green card, June 12, 2013
-conditions removed, April 11, 2013 (YAY!)
-biometrics appointment Oct 16, 2012

Awesome! For question one, I read the sample one, and the guy just put down his university. But since I never went to any extras, I will just write in my normal schooling. Thank you!

For two, I made copies of the card and stamp I received on my I-94A visit, and I will attach them

For the third, I wrote a page explaining why I was refused at the border, and what happened afterwords. Thank you very much for your input! I really appreciate it!

Anything else would be grat as well. Thank you very much for the reply! I'm almost done!

Hi Chyiochan,

Regarding Education: It's a natural presumption that if you graduated from high-school you had to complete all previous grades successfully. Therefore, if you need room on the form because you have university education and other training, it's ok to list from high-school to present. If you have enough additional room on the form, then you can include your middle-school and primary school info. I wouldn't worry about it if you can't list it. (The other option is to attach an additional sheet if you are too worried about it).

Regarding 'A' number: ('A' number meaning Alien Number). Your status here on VJ doesn't show what kind of visa you're processing for. It would be helpful if you would complete that info on your profile. Generally speaking: The immigrant gets an 'A' (Alien) number AFTER you have already received some type of resident status in the US. Without more info, I'm presuming that's what your processing for now. Therefore: you don't have an 'A' number and you would just mark that 'None' -or- 'N/A'.

Regarding your refusal to enter the US: I would certainly write a detailed statement as to the circumstances as an attachment to your DS-230, in the space on the DS-230 you can write "PLEASE SEE ATTACHMENT". Include any supportive evidence i.e. the fact that your married now. I would also consider notarizing your statement.

REMEMBER: Any sheets you attach, be sure to include the NVC case number, the petitioner's name and birth date and the applicant's name birthdate at the top of each added page. ALSO be sure that you write the section and question number from the DS-230 that you are referring to on your additional sheets / attachments.

Hope this helps and Best Wishes,

~Bleauwolf
