I sent my I-129 packet on July 7th and received my NOA1 hard copy ( I live in Thailand ) on July 30th and have heard nothing, no touches, nothing. I am trying to be patient after reading about some of you still waiting on June filings. Is there still a possibility of getting a RFI after this long a wait ?

Is it mandatory that you have three years of back taxes to show proof of income ? My only income is non taxable as a 100% disabled veteran and 6 years ago my accountant told me I don't have to file taxes so I haven't. Does anyone know if the Veterans Administration paperwork will be enough ?

Sorry for these strange questions I just don't know where to get this information...

Best of luck to everyone and Gods speed

I can't answer the money part, but yes, you could still get an RFE. To my knowledge, they haven't even looked at July files yet and no July people on this website have reported receiving any RFEs yet.

As long as your case hasn't been approved, you could get an RFE at any time.

You should research the embassy your fiance will be going through and see if they usually ask for tax returns. Documents at the interview stage are usually at the consulate/embassy's discretion so what my consulate may ask for may not be the same as your fiance's. If you look at the embassy reviews (click the link at the top of the page), hopefully there will be some good information there.

Well Guys, after the initial elation of the NOA2, I have been waiting on the letter from the NVC so I can schedule an interview. Thought I would get it last week and didn't, so, I called the NVC today and was told our case was in AP...Addtional Processing. :crying: The operator could not tell me why, or when it would done. I'm devastated. I cant imagine what they need or want. I was Really hoping to get an interview scheduled for December, and they may be slipping. God, this is such a horrible torturous process.

I am so sorry. Jesus.

Doesn't everybody go through administrative processing? That's what's they're doing when your file is there. I wouldn't get too worried at this point since you might only be there for a few more days. No point in worrying when you don't know all the facts.

Well not really, most people arrive at the NVC, and then are forwarded to the appropriate consular agency as soon as visa slots are available, for most, this is within a week. If you are put into AP, it means there are additional checks being done, this could be random selection for additional processing, or could be because of common names etc. I have read a lot on it here on VJ and it seems to be a pretty common occurance if the USC Petitioner has been married before, which I have. It seems most cases of AP at NVC are resolved within in 30 days, however there are horror stories of as long as 3 months. So while of course there is "processing" at the NVC, AP/AR is additional processing that adds time to the wait at NVC. Here is the VJ thread at VJ for those of us enduring AP/AR. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/165644-stuck-nvc-for-ap/

That sucks and I know it probably sound ridiculous coming from someone not in your situation, but try to remain calm. You have no idea how long it's going to take, it could be over tomorrow. I know for me, I always feel like I wasted my time freaking out about something that later turned out to be a non-issue. The watch pot never boils... which is advice probably no VJers take (even me).

Gap1, you took the words out of my mouth. This is the hardest, most painful thing I've been through.

I know we're close to the NoA2. At the beginning of this month I thought the pressure would subside a bit because we're in the home stretch for this painful, annoying step...but I just want this part over with already. I'm tired of knowing nothing.

UGH the VSC people are complaining because August filers haven't heard anything. AUGUST.

Same. I wanna work on paperwork, prepare his interview, buy plane tickets, finalize wedding plans, etc...I WANT TO BE OUT OF THIS LIMBO.

See I've already done most of that. He already has his police clearance and vaccinations, forms are downloaded and ready to be filed, affidavit of support forms are done and evidence ready. We just need to sign, date and mail.

I'm buying my dress on Wednesday and reserving the party room soon. I'm out of distractions. :crying:

YES YES YES YES! and just when you think you're getting close they throw another curve...... I littorally will weep with relief when she has the Visa in her hand...I have done a lot of challenging things in my life (including a combat tour in Iraq) and this is by far the worst, and most stressful.
