That's what I was thinking (sorry I didn't see this reply until just now). Well, even though everyone SAYS credit doesn't matter here...I get denied for financial-based decisions on a constant basis and I just don't want to risk something this important. It's like they punch in my SSN and get a skull and crossbones saying: DENY HER IMMEDIATELY AND RUN!

hahah gap1, I love this..... but it's true for me too :(

my student loan isn't in default, but I owe more on it than I care to think about. ugh.

I feel like there's a giant branding on my forehead, "MASSIVE STUDENT DEBT, DENY HER FOR EVERYTHING, ALWAYS.... ALSO LAUGH AT HER CREDIT SCORE. THEN LAUGH AT HER INCOME EVEN THOUGH HER MASSIVE STUDENT DEBT SHOULD BEING PAYING OFF" haha.... i exaggerate (obviously), but I do feel your pain on the student loans.

I love my career path (teaching), and to be honest, it's really not about the money because I love kids so darn much, and LOVE teaching, I just wish I didn't have to go into what feels like multimillion dollar debt to do what I love!.... and it just won't pay off the loans as quickly as I'd like.

But seriously - my fiance has lots of debt (a lotttttttttt and also owes back taxes he makes payments on monthly, so there's no tax lien in place or anything), and we have no plans of getting a co-sponser bc he makes way above 125% of poverty. Don't worry! You've come this far and I doubt your student loan will hold you back! If nothing else, an education shows you have high earning potential.

So I went to mail off P3 today.... So hoping I had everything... I triple checked everything from the website... probably more haha. Bussed for just over an hour to get to the DHL location that I had to go to... they wouldn't let me go to the one closer to my house... (Sorry for complaining CBM I know yours is much farther) Got there and gave the paper to the girl that I printed that said I get the prepaid envelope... she was very rude asking me what I wanted her to do with that paper. It says right on it to give it to DHL! Anyways so then she asks me for the address of the consulate... I stumbled through my papers to find it to which she started tapping her pen on the counter. Then she handed me the slip to fill out. I filled it out and asked her where I put my reference number as I didn't see it to which she replied "I don't know"? WTH... how can she not know... so I rechecked... found the box... grrr.... filled it in and put my MTL# for good measure just to make sure it gets matched up with my file lol... Then I gave her the envelope, she seemed annoyed I hadn't sealed it but I didn't know if she had to put anything in it like the account paper or anything. Then she took the envelope and Threw!!! Threw my hours of printing and slaving over papers in that envelope into a big plastic bin... I was too scared to grumble at her... So when I got outside I called and asked when it would be delivered cause I think she would have taken my head off if I bothered her again lol. The super nice girl on the phone said it would be sent out at 7pm EST tonight and should arrive at Montreal tomorrow!! YAY!! Then bussed the hour back home with my 6 year old complaining that the "post office" was too far just to mail a letter lol... oh to be that innocent... :D

Time to update your signature! :)

I hate dealing with people like that, who act like you wrecked their whole day by patronizing their company.

So did you end up being able to send it for free? Where exactly is the info that says it's free?

Question: For the I-134, does the sponsor have to prove 3 yrs of 125% above the poverty line income? Or is the 3 yr requirement ONLY for form I-864? Second question, if my Dad co-sponsor's my fiance, do we simply provide two forms I-134--one from my dad with his income etc and one from myself with mine? Like gap1, I want to make sure that everything is ready and correct for my fiance's interview...which of course we have no date of that yet because of COURSE we have no NOA2 yet....Sorry! One more thing, can I scan and email my fiance these forms or do I have to physically send him them so the consulate has original signatures??

no,the only tax return that matters,as far as poverty guidelines go,is the last one, they only need the three years prior to see that you have had a relatively stable income for that time.

about your question about co sponsoring paperwork,im sorry,i dont know,we wont be needing a cosponsor so we didnt really get deep into that.

as far as scanning goes,i dont think you can scan any forum on packet 3,because the signatures have to be originals.

I read the instructions for Form I-134 and didn't see anything regarding three year's history. I didn't even see a requirement to attach tax return (only self-employed need to include tax return). So it seems like I'd be fine for the interview purpose of just turning in the form for myself, and then when we adjust his status, I will include my dad as co-sponsor as I don't have three years history of this income (just graduated college last year).

Does that sound about right?? (I'm going to see an expert who gives advice on this stuff too.)

you dont attach anything for packet 3,you send in the forums, keep the documents.maybe thats why there is no mention of having to attach the tax return to I-134

I'm not sure about other consulates, but I know when I got my P3 it just said to tick it off the checklist that I had it. I didn't even have to send it in, let alone attach tax returns Im pretty sure its just for at the interview stage you'll need it. Though mine had I-134 and the I-864 on the list and I thought the latter one was only for AOS...
