Gingerpants - if you are looking for a simple white dress, still try a bridal shop! I ordered my dress in the summer bc I'm out of my home province until christmas, so I ordered it in June so it would be ready for me to pick up at Christmas... turned out it was ready earlier...... but anyway, when i went to the bridal places, there were tons of short dresses! They also had simpler dresses for "destination weddings", but you could easily wear one of those... check it out! :)

oh gosh,i didnt know you got your approval,or maybe i did and forgot, congrats

just to keep this pleasant subject going, have you decided about the song for your first dance?

Well I'm hoping for "Videotape" by Radiohead (the band I follow on tour), but since he's not a huge fan we might settle for "Excuses" by The Morning Benders.

I would absolutely love to wear it :)

ypr, the second dress you posted is such a pretty dress!

gap, you seem to have everything ready for your fiance to come to the US :) all the paper work, wedding plans and a stunning dress. Makes me feel super unprepaired haha :)

Well not completely. We've just ordered the things that take a few weeks or more to obtain so we leave ourselves extra time to sort through everything. I'd hate to sit here aimlessly for 5 months then find out we're getting delayed because we forgot something.

Thanks CBM,

Yeah our budget is pretty much non-existent since we'll be pouring all of our money into the visa and the move, so that's why I'm holding off on the white gown. We're doing a 40's style though so I'm still finding ways to have fun with it that way.

Here's one that I'm considering for the civil ceremony:

Opt. 1

With these accessories:

Birdcage veil

Gloves

I'm really short so I'm hoping it wouldn't look as skimpy as it does on the site. Is it too casual? Or will the accessories and a pair of nice heels dress it up enough?

Here are a few others I might like as well:

Opt. 2

Opt. 3

that is gorgeous,is it tea length?

i guess im too preppy,i have my eyes on a couple of jcrew wedding gowns,i also wanted a justin alexander, tea length and full skirt, but again we are doing a wedding themed party,as it will be on SO's birthday,so,a really wedding like wedding dress will be irrelevant.

its a tie between this images_onFigure_26_26954_26954_NA6434_m_tif_75a80b2ef765184f.jpg

BTW... does anyone watch 'Four Weddings' on The Learning Channel? Awesome show and a great way to learn the do's and don'ts of a wedding. New episode tonight at 10 p.m. EST. :D

Ooo I've watched a few of those! We have the UK version here (sometimes they stream the US version as well). It's fun to sit down with my FMIL and watch it. We like to laugh at some of the outrageous dresses! :P

Oh I adore Anthropologie! Especially their home ware! Sadly they're always out of my price range.

Screen shot away! It looks like solid wedding planning proof to me. :)
