In MI you can prove residency with docs in a family member's name if you can prove the relationship.

So the bills/statements were/are in my name and the marriage cert is proof of relationship. Worked fine the first time.

Maybe your state has a similar clause?

And Yes Happy Thanksgiving to all! I almost made some turkey this weekend but decided to hold off until November! Between November Thanksgiving and then Christmas I think that will be enough turkey back to back!! :star:

Got my EAD card in the mail today.

Talk about different food I had a little taste of the food in "the south". My husband and I got married out in Dallas at his parent's home (we live in California). While we were there we went to the State Fair....my oh my the fried food and everything was yummy but could NOT have that kind of "treat" more then once a year if that! Just interesting what is considered "delicacies" not only compared to Canada but the polar opposite to healthy-vegan minded California :P

Gosh, tell me about it! Chris' family's idea of a good breakfast is sausage bicuits, i.e. a fat patty on a butter bun... The perfect recipe for a heart attack!

Oh, and then you have country fried steak, where someone had the brilliant idea of making steak even worse for you by breading it and frying it!

Gosh, better stop, I could go on, and on, and on....

lol yeah seems like everything in the south is fried. My fiance once put bacon in the deep fryer. I was disgusted and I'll know why he dies young lol. I dont let him do that now that I am here with him.

I got my NOA1 in the mail October 8 and my biometrics appointment letter arrived yesterday. I am scheduled for October 28th. If you'd like to add that to your list.

I got 3 NOAs. One for AOS, AP and EAD. It feels good even though I know I still have a long time to wait...

AOS

POE @ Toronto Pearson - 08/12/10

Civil Ceremony - 08/27/10

Applied for SSN in married name - 09/06/10 (I was told it will take 4 weeks to get the background check cleared and an additional 2 weeks to receive my card)

AOS/EAD/AP sent with FedEx - 09/25/10

E-Notice From Chicago - 10/05/10

I-797C, NOA1 Received - 10/08/10

SSN card received (FINALLY!)- 10/23/10

Biometrics appointment - 10/28/10

EAD Approved - 11/19/10 (USCIS Website Notice)

AP Approved & Received - 11/22/10

EAD Received- 11/23/10

Interview - 02/07/11 APPROVED!

I am now a U.S. Permanent Resident!!

Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to check in, I haven't been able to spend to much time on the puter lately. We have been having some rough and happy times at the same time. Our aunt had passed away unexpectedly last week..She will be deeply missed, in the mist of it all my Shower was planned to happen this passed weekend and we continued on with it because that's what our aunt would want. My mom showed up and surprised me at my bridal shower. I was shocked! It was planned for 2 months, I had no clue at all..It was a very nice surprise in the mist of everything else that has been happening. Our aunts memorial is going to be on Friday. Still have some planning to do for the wedding, which is right around the corner. We are very excited, but wish our aunt could be here to celebrate it with us at the same time.

I'm glad to hear everyone is doing well and are enjoying your new lives with your loved ones!

Can't wait to start my AOS process with ya'll.. I might need some help with it when the time comes. I haven't really had any time to even go through it yet. I did recieve my SSN in the mail last week tho. I didn't have no problemos!

Of course! Any help we can all provide for AOS will be comin your way just ask away! Honestly...don't get overwhelemed by the forms, when you 1st download them it seems like a lot but really truly isn't that bad:)

Nice there are 3 of us with days of each other should be interesting to see how the timing goes!!
