Hey everyone!

How are you all doing? Long time no talk! J&J, are you settling in your new home?

Chris and I are about to put an offer on a lot and build our house! It's very exciting, and a long time coming!!! It should be all done by December 2012 hopefully! It's in a super quiet neighborhood, full of woods! As a matter of fact, when we went looking around on the lot this past weekend, I was bitten by something on my back, and I have three giant bumps! I think I need to go see a doctor! It's freaking me out!!!

I think Chris and I are also going to do a surprise visit in July for my mother's birthday. Just for a long weekend I think. It'll be nice to see everyone! And then we'll be going for Christmas as well. I think after the house is built, I'm going to tell the family that it's their turn to come and visit now! Hahaha!

One of my brothers is possibly moving to Guatemala, and I'd like to go visit and maybe have our honeymoon there or something. But apparently it's expensive to fly there? Not sure what'll happen with that.

I have to renew my passport before applying for the removal of conditions. I think I'll probably do that after coming back for the visit in July. Hopefully it doesn't take too long! I'm not going to change my name though I don't think, it might be too much of a hassle, what do you think?

Alright people, take it easy, enjoy the beautiful spring we're having! (well, here anyways!!!)

Did you get your lot? How is the house building coming?

A surprise visit for your mom's birthday sounds awesome. I bet she will be so happy :)

I'm not sure how long it takes to renew your passport from here. Mine doesn't expire till 2013. I will be changing my name when I renew it. I still have to change my name on my SSN card.

I have been feeling a lot better lately both physically and emotionally. I am excited that my mom and nephew will be here to visit soon. Alex asked my mom to make him some slippers and told her he wanted them to be pink. He also asked her to wrap them up like a present so he can open them lol. He is a bit crazy :) We have been enjoying our new truck. We are excited to see how it does on the drive to Canada. With it being a mega cab I know everyone will be comfortable and have enough leg room. Our back seats even recline so my mom can nap on the way home if she wants lol.

here is a picture of our new truck

Did you guys see the new 20$ bill? People are mad at it! So sensitive!!!

Haven't seen it. Why are people mad about it?

Hi everyone!

MandaNchris, I'm happy all is better! Every cloud has a silver lining, right? I'm sure some days are harder than others, but we have to keep an eye on the big picture! I love the truck!!! Your boy is adorable!!! You're very lucky!

The 20$ bill has a picture of a statue on it from France, from WW2 memorial, and there's woman's breasts on it. Some people also think the memorial itself looks like the twin towers. I guess some people just need something to complain about!

We have found a lot in a very nice, quiet and secluded neighborhood in the middle of a forest, literally! We're waiting on the bank right now to approve the builder. We're wrapping the lot and house building in one loan so we don't have two closing costs. I've learned more in the last 6 months about real estate then in all my years of watching HGTV! It's a very slow process, and I feel like buying old would have save us a lot of time and headaches, but Chris doesn't get excited about older homes. No sense in trying to convince him!

Hi Alaba!!! My brother went there 3 years ago with a religious group to do humanitarian work (they helped with the foundations of a school, some fish farm buildings and what not), and he's been going ever since for periods of 6 months at a time. He loves how simple life is, how people seem to have the right priorities, and values. He had met a woman there last year but she was going through a nasty divorce, and friends had advised him to take his time and wait it out. This is it all worked itself out! :)

I'm glad to hear from everyone! I like keeping in touch! Sometimes life gets so busy, we forget how long we've come to be here right now!

Have a great Memorial day weekend everyone! Be safe! :energy:

Hi Everyone,

So glad to hear everyone is doing great. Love the new truck mandaNchris!! Vero, congrats on the new lot, I hope everything ends up working out perfectly, I can imagin what a stressful process it can be like. We are settling into our new home quite nicely, we are growing to like it more and more each day, our doggies seem to like it more too. I might be going back home for a visit soon, just not sure as of when yet, when i go up i'll probably renew my passport, it expires in Aug. Time sure has been flying, before we know it we will be applying for ROC, i'd rather not think about that yet tho..lol Hope all is well and glad to see that everyone is keeping in touch :) Hope everyone had a safe memorial day!!! P.S. I still havn't see the new $20.00 bill yet, can't wait to see it..hehe

Glad to hear from you J& J!!!

And just when I thought things were settling down with the house building, well turns out the builder was trying to rob us blind!!! We're back to hunting for a built home (no more building from scratch, thank God!). We actually made an offer on a house last night! Hopefully it'll go through!!! I thought immigration was complicated, but gee, try buying a house in the States!!!

 woohoo!! Congrats Vero. Sorry that the builder tried to rip you off. Glad you caught him before he was able to rob you blind. That must have been very stressful.

My mom and nephew are here visiting. We will be driving them back to Canada on friday. Can't wait to see everyone there. I'm so happy.

Thanks for the complements on the truck :D

Thank you mandaNchris! I try not to get too excited about it in case it doesn't go through or in case they find something crazy during the inspection. To be continued!

Glad you're having some family time!!! Enjoy the company!!! :)

Happy Canada Day everyone!!!

Hope you guys found a way to celebrate! I made some Canadian Mojitos, and they were delicious!!!

Bad news on the home front though; during the inspection, they found that the water contained lead. So now we're waiting to see if the bank will drill a new well, since it's a foreclosure and we're using a FHA loan... Gosh, such a pain! And we were so close!!!

:ranting:
