I know!!! We're so excited!!! Things are coming along nicely!!!

How was your visit back home? Are you still up there?

We are home in Georgia now. We came home Oct. 14th. Thanksgiving was awesome. Got to see everyone in my family and no one fought lol. Chris have a few drinks and got tipsy and then tried to play cards with us. All around good fun. Our car started breaking down when we got to my aunts house in Oakville (near Toronto) on Thanksgiving. We made it to the boarder of Ohio and Ky and couldn't drive anymore. We pulled into a hotel and Chris' mom went and got a car carrier from Chris' work and came to pick us and our car up and bring us back home. It turned into a very long trip. I am glad we were able to make it to a hotel. Being stuck on the side of the interstate broke down would have been very bad with Alex. We got some sleep until my mother in-law and step father in-law got there. Then when we were a couple hours from home Alex was sleeping in the car, woke up and puked all over himself, so we had to pull over clean him up, get him changed and clean off his booster seat. It was a very long trip home and my car is still not working yet.

Both axles and bearings went bad. Chris got the parts to replace them and had trouble getting one bearing in so he hit it a few times and broke it. Now it is stuck in the axle and Chris and his friend from work are trying to get it out today. They have been working for hours on it and still going. I hope they can get it out without us having to replace the axle again.

We were planning on going back to Canada for Christmas but now we can't afford to so my family is disappointed but understands things happen. So we will be enjoying a nice peaceful Christmas at home just the three of us this year. Can't say I'm too disappointed :P

Wow, that's crazy!!! I hate car troubles!!! Seems like your Chris is like my Chris; they have to fix things themselves! Saves a lot of money though! I'm glad you guys made it back safely though! At least Alex puked, not the other one... My sister's oldest son did that to me once, I would have taken puke over that for sure!!!

Glad you had a lot of fun and that you made it alright! How was crossing the border?

Thanks. Chris is a diesel technician so he knows a lot about cars, trucks etc. He also loves to learn and tear things apart just to see how they work and to put them back together. One of the reasons I love him. It would have cost a pretty penny to have someone else fix our car. I am so thankful that Chris knows how to fix cars. We thought the car was fixed on Saturday but test driving it on Sunday proved us wrong. So it is still out of commission for another week or so.

Oh man I bet that was horrible to clean up on the side of the road. I hope you had clean clothes to change him into. I would take puke over the other also.

Crossing was easy as pie. I love my green card lol The boarder guard told us that I don't need my passport to cross, I only need my green card. I don't believe him so I'll still be bringing both whenever I cross.

Hey Guys,

Just got home from good ol' Canada, we had a blast!! Glad to hear ya'lls visits went well and made it home safely with all the car probs(mandaNchris). Very good news Vero about the pernament job position, now you can start house hunting, sounds like fun :) It's good to hear everyone is doing great. It will be a year on the 14th since we been married, I'm making something with paper for my husband, since the 1st anniversary has something to do with Paper..lol...

P.S. mandaNchris... I crossed the border twice already with just my Green Card going back to the states (tunnel). Had no problems at all.. They just asked how long I was away for and that was it. I still use my Passport to get into Canada though!

We will keep in touch!!

Nice to hear from you J&J! Well, I gave Christopher a card for our 1 year anniversary, that's paper, that should count, right? Hahahaha Jokes aside, Happy Anniversary!!!

Nice! You're husband is a mechanic!!! Gosh, you're in for a life time of saving money!!!

It's crazy how getting a job and meeting people outside Chris' family has made such an impact on how I feel about living here. I'm so happy, it was all well worth it!

lol Yeah I married him because he knows how to fix cars ;) lol

Aww! I'm so happy that you are enjoying living there now. Meeting new people and having friends can be very helpful. I'm trying to decide if I want to work part time when our son starts school or not just for interaction with new people. I still know no one here other then Chris' family. On a good note though his sister that I am close to just moved back to Georgia from Texas this weekend so I'll have someone to hang out with again :)

That's great! Are you in a rural part of Georgia or close to a big city? It might be fun to have something part time when you are ready. I know that even though it took a while to find work, I did enjoy that time on my own.

We live on the outskirts of a small city. Our road has a lot of woods with a few house mixed in. Our neighbors are close enough but not too close. It's really nice except no kids around for my son to play with. I think it will be nice to get out and meet new people and I know a job will do that for me. I just worry because I have back and muscle problems that it will be hard to find a job that doesn't leave me in a lot of pain at the end of the day. Need to get my license before I can get a job though. I still haven't changed my SS card into my married name. Gotta get that done soon. Five more days and it will be our one year anniversary  we made it a year without a divorce

Well, It ended up being pretty simple, we made each other a card. We had too much excitement around here to be able to have time to make something more Crazy..lol Our house pipes bursted on us, so we didn't have any water for about a week. We both worked on it on our anniversary and the week of... Which I didn't mind because we just wanted WATER. It's been pretty Crazy busy, with Thanksgiving and now Christmas around the corner. Hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the holiday season and hopefully no more bursted pipes...:)

A simple card can be just as sweet and sentimental as something elaborate. Sorry you had such a busy couple of weeks. I hope you can relax now until Christmas time.

Vero how was your four days off? I hope you had a good Thanksgiving.

Oh no... No water for a week!!! That's insane!!! I would have gone crazy J&J!!! Sorry about how busy you got! And so true, a simple card is all I need!

Well, it was great being off, I slept in, relaxed, didn't even cook! It was the best. I'm telling you though, going back to work was a pain... Sunday night I realized "oh right, I work now!"... And this week has been horrible, I've been cranky all week, I miss being at home! Hahahaha!

Oh well, enough complaining, take care you guys, happy Holiday Season!
