Wishing, are you excited for your interview next week? I'm sure you're fully prepared, knowing you! Did you hear anything about your AP?

I've been job hunting since yesterday and already had an interview to schedule, but the job is too far, it's in a bad neighborhood and only 15 hours a week so I had to decline... Didn't come here to be attacked on my way to my car! I guess it's back to square one! Wish me luck!

Had my biometrics appointment today. It was very simple! I waited a hour just to get my finger prints and picture taken..at least that part is over and done with! I almost forgot our marriage certificate, good thing i grabbed it before we left.

Hope all is well :)

Yes make sure you bring it. Expecally if your name is listed on your paperwork with your new last name(husbands last name). All my ID is still in my maiden name, so the marriage cert. proves that that's my new last name and it's still me.

Yeah, I don't remember if I had my VA driver's license by then, but I brought it anyways because they asked for something proving the name... But your fiance should be fine since you most likely took his name, right? As long as his name on the AOS package is the same as his proof of ID and SSN you'll be ok.

oh okay i get it..no i didn't take his name, basically because my son has his father's last name, i kept my maiden name so we all have different last names instead of my kid being the odd one out : )

orfee hasn't gotten his va license yet, its so hard to get anything done since we only have one car and i take that to work everyday..but it is something we need to do and soon!

Happy New Year August Crew!

Today, in the mail, was my much anticipated interview date. For a second I thought they'd skipped it and decided to assign me my card instead. Oh well..my interview is Monday, February 7th. Hopefully I'll have a job by then! I've applied to over 20! There seems to be a lot of opportunity in LA, but of course this also means there is way more competition. I'm optimistic however.

Hope you all are doing great!

AOS

Civil Ceremony - 08/27/10

Applied for SSN in married name - 09/06/10 (I was told it will take 4 weeks to get the background check cleared and an additional 2 weeks to receive my card)

AOS/EAD/AP sent with FedEx - 09/25/10

E-Notice From Chicago - 10/05/10

I-797C, NOA1 Received - 10/08/10
