I called my local USCIS office in Las Vegas and I was told they will give an EAD. However, the representative could not provide any detail regarding the process. I have read that we must show proof of AOS filing to be eligible for this stamp at the local office. Is this correct? I am hoping that we can bring the I-765 filed out along with our marriage license and receive the EAD. Anyone have experiences to share?

Are you talking about temp EAD (for K1 status) or the 1-yr EAD (filed with AOS)? There was some talk about "possibly" being able to get a temp EAD from the local office after arrival (on the old forum), but it seemed more like an exception than the rule. I'm not sure that local offices accept applications for 1-yr EADs; they are all to be sent to Chicago lockbox. Even if they do accept applications, I highly doubt that they issue EADs same day.

Hmm, now I really lowered your expectations! Well, anything is possible, let us know if you are successful.

That makes sense. But K1 EAD is totally not worth it since it expires as soon as the K1 status expires.

How did you get the phone number of your local USCIS office?
