Hi VJ! Im planning to file for AOS next week and i just got my SS Card with marked DHS AUTHORIZATION,what does this mean? Am i allowed to work with this DHS authorization without EAD or not? Does this DHS authorization have expiration? I just got married last month, my K1 visa will expire on Sept. Thanks!:)

Means you need the EAD or Greencard to work.

DHS authorization is good for as long as the document you are using is good for (EAD/GC)

Your K-1 is dead all ready - since you used it (one shot deal) - You would be more concerned about your I-94 and filing for the AOS prior to that expiring.

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.
