All you do is wait now for 4-5 months. The smart thing to do would prepare as many documents as possible for the next stage at NVC. :D

There are essentially three dates on the NOA1 that I can see. There's the received date which is the same as the priority date (it's the date when the petition was received), and as far as my understanding goes, priority date doesn't matter for IR/CR-1 visa applicants since there isn't a limit per year to those type of visas. The third date, the notice date, at the top right would be the NOA1 date.

Hope this clears it up.

Ok, ok, I'll use the notice date! I just like the priority/receipt date better!!! ;-)

P.S. It looks like we have the same NOA1 date! Good luck!

IR-5

  • USCIS scan date - 11/07/2014
  • NVC scan date - 03/06/2015
  • NVC case complete - 08/01/2015
  • Interview scheduled - 09/14/2015
  • Interview - 10/08/2015

Oh yes, I prefer the priority/received date as well since it's two days earlier, lol.

We're NOA1 buddies then :D Good luck to you as well!

I'm hoping to have a nice little Christmas present from USCIS. An approved petition is all I want for Christmas this year. And my husband of course.

That's what I'm hoping for! I figure that it's not TOO crazy to hope for approval by the end of the year. And who knows? Maybe we'll be among those lucky few who get approved in 2.5 months or something! How amazing would that be?

Kikapoo,

It's definitely not TOO crazy to hope for. :D I'm keeping all fingers and toes crossed for an approval by the end of the year. I'm even crazy enough to hope for an approval by my birthday in 8 days (Oct 10) But that would be way too insane. Oooo, 2.5 months would be absolutely amazing! Let's hope!

It doesn't mean anything... there is a 50/50 chance that you would or wouldn't receive an RFE...

they will determine it once they are handling you case... as of now just your paperwork is accepted and is in order... if they need more

evidence they will let u know later...

Matt and Evieve,

There were a lot of people that got touched on October 3 with petitions in VSC. Many people think it was just a mass update of petitions.

You just made my heart beats faster. Hahaha. We were supposed to be collating some supporting documents that they ask for the expedite request. But we're thinking twice about it cause the Oct 3 touch might be something :D Something great! :D

Hey, I hope you guys get some news soon. I really sincerely hope and pray.

Btw, I'm an August filer and not July :)
