-cover sheet from payment portal

-cover letter *optional*

-DS-230 part 1 signed and dated

-DS-230 part 2 unsigned

-2 US passport style photographs (beneficiary's name, date of birth, and case number written on back)

-photocopy of beneficiary's passport bio-data page

-original/certified copy of birth certificate of beneficiary (plus a photocopy)

-original/certified copy of marriage certificate (plus a photocopy)

-original police certificate of beneficiary

-if applicable: original/certified copies of divorce decree and/or military certificate (plus photocopies)

If any of the above civil documents aren't in English, you need notarized translations as well.

By the way, even though I did the online form, I still had to send in the exact same documents listed above, just not the DS-230.

Pretty much the same documents, except this time they have to be originals/certified copies. You get the cover sheet from the payment portal when the bill appears as PAID.

Should just be the beneficiary as the IV package is filled out and put together by the beneficiary. But I'm not 100% sure as this didn't apply to me, so I didn't need to make sure with an operator.

Correct, for the DS-230 only the beneficiary's documents are required.

Of course for the I-130 both are required (if applicable) and we also took additional court issued copies of divorce certificates for both of us to the interview (just in case :) )

Thankfully this was my first marriage, so no previous divorce papers. And never been to court, and I hope it stays that way. I would have brought them as well to the interview. You have no idea what those officers will ask for. A quote I saw in someone's signature here on VJ that I love: "It's better to be very over prepared than even slightly under prepared." I'm going to live by that when it comes time for my interview yes.gif

Totally agree! I had multiple certified copies and regular photocopies of every document I submitted from the I-130 on; not to mention over 10 years of relationship evidence. Didn't need a single piece of it but was sure happy to have it all with me "just in case.'" laughing.gif

I have 3 certified copies of my birth certificate, and like a billion certified copies from my husband for his birth certificate and our marriage certificate. :D I still have to print out evidence and make a few photocopies of things. But I'm pretty much ready. I have a copy of our I-130 package, the original and a copy of our AOS package, the original and copy of our IV package, printouts of every single email that I sent and I received from NVC, along with receipts of the AOS and IV bills, and a bunch of other stuff that I doubt will ever be asked of me at the interview, but, like you said, "just in case". I've got a feeling that I won't need to open my folder at all during the interview. laughing.gif
