Thanks yet again, lol!

Yeah, I forgot about this thread since I'm so involved with the CSC to TSC thread now. But I had to drop by and tell everyone I got approved.

And yes, I'm sure I'll be getting an NVC number quickly compared to those from TSC, sadly.

Yep, Saylin's right--we were just very, VERY lucky. I'm guessing that, after 36,000 files were transferred to TSC, ours was right on top of the first pile of those that were left!

Man, I hope so! I really hope everything goes smoothly and we can be done with this. I know that our process has gone quickly, but it sucks to wait even 6 (suspenseful) months!

We're still here rooting for you guys!!!

I'm glad everyone is getting approved, we got our NOA1 on 08/20/2010 from California and then got transfered to Texas on 11/3/2010 , I guess I will calling tomorrow as it looks like everyone around my date is getting approved left and right?

Since my wife doesn't yet have a SSN how are you guys claiming married for 2010 taxes?

Since you were transferred to TSC, you should check out this thread: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/281110-california-service-center-to-texas-service-center/ It's all about the mass CSC to TSC transfer. You're not alone in not having an approval from Texas.

As for the taxes, if you file 'married filing jointly', you need to get your wife an ITIN by filing a W7 form for her. If you file 'married filing separately', you don't need an ITIN, but you need to write either 'NR' or 'NRA' in the SSN field (it stands for non-resident alien). Either way, you won't be able to file online, you need to do it by hand.

Ditto what Saylin said about the ITIN and W-7. My husband and I did that so I know the drill. The W-7 is sent WITH your tax return (1040) and you send it to a separate address that assigns your spouse the ITIN number, fills it in on your 1040 and then processes your 1040 as usual.

Be careful if you have to file a state income tax return and don't file "on the deadline". I made this mistake. I had both of my returns ready to go "on the due date" and when I went to mail them, I realized that I didn't have the ITIN number to put on the state return. I was then told I had to wait for the ITIN to be processed by the IRS, and personally add it to my state return before I could file. Needless to say, my state return was late.

Best wishes to you both.

If I file 'Married filing separately', can I, or do I ammend later?

You don't have to amend if you don't wish, but you can if you do.
