I mailed in my I-130 package on August 13. The post office tracking tells me it was received on August 16th, but I still haven't received my NOA1, or any other response. It's been over a month. At what point do I start panicking, and after that, what do I do?

Was the check cashed. If so, ask your bank if they can fax you a copy of the back of the check. It should have the receipt number on the back. You will use that number to check your status on the USCIS web site. The number should start with WAC.

I mailed I-130 the same day as you and I got my NOA1 in the mail on 8/26. There was a mistake on USCIS part so they fixed it and a reprint was received by me on 9/07.

Hmm, so far I've gotten no response whatsoever...

Not sure what your next step should be, but, I would start by calling USCIS maybe they can try to locate it without the receipt #. I have read other about other members who have tried that. From what I recall in most cases the petition was rejected and mailed back due to Section C. Don't want to alarm you just share my observations.

Thanks, I just reviewed my Section C and it was pretty straightforward. I don't see anything that could have went wrong there, as happened to people in other threads.

Thanks. Looks like there's been some confusion lately, but these other people at least got some kind of response. I'll try contacting USCIS. You said to call them, but the one time I called that number before I could find no way to escape the robot menu system telling me things I already knew from their website. Is there some magic phrase to get to a human?

In any case, the link you gave me has an email to write to. Thanks!

Best regards,

R & P

I received a I-797 notice of action, a receipt with a receipt number indicating that my case has been reached to the CSC center & not VSC, even though I live in NJ. I have not received a NOA 1 yet...Anyone else face the same situation??? Should I be worried?

Doesn't it usually state NOA 1 on the document? When does the alien # get assigned? The notice I received doesn't have one...just curious.

I select the option to check case status. And then After mistyping my rcpt # a couple of times it connected me to a representative. Either that or it gave me an option of skipping the rcpt # part.

Let me know if you have had luck or else I will give it a try and get you the exact steps.

cheers.

I-797 does not have NOA 1 return on it.

Not sure when exactly the alien # is assigned but the I-797/NOA1 does not have that information.

No way to know, I used a USPS money order.

Hey R & P,

Try this:

---

USC Spouse can also check in with the lockbox operations in Chicago, via email - use lockboxsupport@dhs.gov for the email address - include in the body:

petitioner's name, dob, ssn

beneficiary's name, dob

along with a query for 'what happened to my I-130 submittal?'

as there's been some issues with addresses on the forms in August, where the 'guidelines' the 'first-level reviewers' were using, were wrong, and the I-130 petition was kicked back.

Does your 797 form state NOA 1 or receipt in the Notice Type? See my attachment. I am just confused if this is NOA 1 or not...sorry to keep on bugging everyone about this...just really worried.

and also

contact the lockbox via email.
