Hello all,

I have a question... last week, I receieved an email/text that said...

Your Current Case Status for Form I130, IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN

Post Decision Activity

On November 29, 2010, a USCIS office received this case from the State Department with a request that we review it. We will notify you when we complete our review, or if we need something from you. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283 1-800-375-5283.

For approved applications/petitions, post-decision activity may include USCIS sending notification of the approved application/petition to the National Visa Center or the Department of State. For denied applications/petitions, post-decision activity may include the processing of an appeal and/or motions to reopen or reconsider and revocations.

AND... I just received a letter in the mail as follows:

I-797C, Notice of Action

This is to advise you that we have received the above application or petition back from the Department of State, along with their request that it be reviewed. We will notify you of any action we take on this case.

What does this mean? Is this NAO2? Have we been approved? What is the next step, interview? Sorry for the questions but... this entire process is a little confusing to me.

Thank you,

Erick

Magdasal--

Have you (or any of the other recent approvals) gotten NVC case numbers yet? I'm about to try calling on my lunch break...

"Touches" really don't mean anything. Some people get absolutely no touches the whole time they're in USCIS, but they get approved anyways. Some people get lots of touches and get approved. For example, I've only gotten one touch so far, the day after USCIS received my petition. After that, nothing. No touches in more than three months. So don't worry about the fact that you haven't gotten many touches.

I would say no, that's not your NOA2 since it doesn't say you were approved, but rather your petition is being reviewed, being sent back. You should post this in the CSC to TSC mass transfer thread since there were lots of people that got the same email. TSC is definitely sending out a lot of different emails/notices about petitions transferring to USCIS offices as well as post-decision emails and petitions getting sent back by DoS for review at USCIS. Until you get a notice with the definitive words 'approval' in it, you can't really do much.

Once you do get approval, the interview wouldn't be next. I would highly suggest reading these two guides: http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/How_to_bring_your_foreign_spouse_to_live_in_the_US and http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/EZGuideSpouse You'll be going through NVC next and you need to make payments and send forms in. Read the two above guides over and over until you understand what to do. :)

What Saylin said is true. Some files don't get touched at all and get approved. But know that sometimes when you get a touch you dont necessarily get an e-mail stating that there was somehing done on your case. You need to check USCIS website everyday to see if there was a touch. And the website only shows the last time it was touched so you can't see the ones before that.
