Hello fellow VJ members. David here from Ohio. This is my first question posting here. On 31 July, 2010 National Visa Center sent me notification of forwarding petition to Manila (which included our Case Number). On the bottom of the letter, it said my fiancee would be receiving a packet and I should visit www.travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/types/types_4323.html to determine if there is anything I need to be aware. I made it this far, but the more I read....the more I get confused. Norma has yet to receive anything and we know that mail to her home address is not a guaranteed delivery. When should we attempt to make that call? Also, the St Luke $213.35 and Interview $350.00 fees, should I forward these funds to Norma or can it be paid online by me? Thanks for your help. Each day is one day closer to being together.

hello.if you got the nvc letter, you can call the usembassy next week so you can schedule the interview.about the 350 and the medical fee she will be the one to hand it to the bank for the 350 and for the 213 fr the medical.she dont have to wait for that letter to come from the embassy cos theres nothing in there.its just a letter letting her know that they got your case.theres no packet 3 in that letter she will have to download the ds forms from the us embassy website and have it print and filled up.goodluck to both of you

call the 877 number from the US to do the interview. I would scan and e-mail the letter you got from the NVC....she will need that and the NOA2 for her to do her medical. Get the medical done ASAP just in case they see a spot in the lung xray. Download packet 3 here: http://manila.usembassy.gov/wwwfk1en.pdf

Yes you have to send the money to your fiancee and she has to pay there in the philippines. It is all spelled out in the packet 3 link I provided above.

So we can call the phone # to schedule the interview. Who schedules the medical exam (St. Luke's)? Is there a # we call or does someone else schedule the exam for her? -Dave from Seattle

Yeah, just show up to St. Lukes. All Mhay took was a copy of the NOA2 and I printed out a bill from the NVC with the MNL case number on it. All you really need is the case number. She will need 4 passport style photos (only 3 were used), her passport, a pen, and a lot of patience depending how busy they are. I was waiting outside St Lukes for Mhay both days. If you wait for the interview letter from the embassy, chances are it will come a week before the interview with the next day after receiving it the "medical appointment." At least that is what happened to us. We did the medical even before the NVC was done with our case...about 2 months before the interview.
