Ok guyz, I know we are not "there" yet, but I was thinking:

I have an autoimmune illness - my thyroid is not working properly - and I was wondering if I need to get a doctors note for the medical examination or should I just bring my blood test that show whats wrong?? Cos If I do need a note - it would be a battle to reach my doctor!

i'm not sure about this.but usually their concern are those who are communicable or can harm others like tuberculosis,std's and i don't think thyroid problem is one of those.

Well, you can't catch mine! It's only not-curable, unfortunately... But idk if they'll need that doc. note.. Don't they ask for medical condition dox or smth???

A thyroid problem is not a reason to deny. If you are asked about any medical conditions (which you should) or asked if you are taking any current medications(which you will) simply tell them the truth. A note from your doctor may not be a bad idea just to explain the nature of your illness and how it is managed.

Just in case, does your husband have insurance lined up for you once you enter the US? This will solve any of the 'public charge' concerns that may pop up.

Thank you canadian_wife! I just need an explanation for my extra weight that I got in the past year (a better excuse than the stress around the US immigration process ) Hubby is in the military so we are all set with health&dental insurance! I bet that would solve any concerns
