My fiance and I are thinking about us getting married the next time I come to visit him in NY. We are thinking about just going to a court, get married. Nothing big about out. Then I would help him compile the I-130. I have no intention on staying. My question is what would I need to show in order to get a marriage license. Would I be allowed to take photos of the proceedings. Also I doubt my family would be able to attend. His mother and sister live in NY as well so they would be able to witness it. Would this be a problem when filing the I-130. Reason I am asking is that in a previous thread I saw someone post a long RFE and I got me kind of scared. I know each case is unique but it has me worried. My fiance said I am making things harder than they seem. We have beed together for 6 years and almost 5 of those years we have been together my fiance has been living in the US and I don't want to be apart from him any longer than necessarity because of an RFE. Any thoughts?

Hello

Keep in mind no matter what visa you are going to apply for to provide an adequate amount of information and evidence to establish that you had a relationship through out the entire 6 years that you've known each other before and after you got married.

So i don't think it is a problem to get married in the US and have his family attend the ceremony cause of course you're family won't be able to attend.

Good luck

Marriage license depends on he state rules/laws. You can go online for the State you will be needing a marriage license from and look up what is required to obtain a license. It is different for all states.
