I did have the privilege of serving with a Coast Guard PSU (Port Security Unit) in some foxholes. They definitely changed my opinion of sailors (I know, I know, not really Navy but they are on boats) and I really liked their answer as to why they were there. "What are you guys doing here on an Army base training with Air Force guys on how to secure a runway?"

I'm assuming in this story since these guys were in training and had to stay with their unit they were younger soldiers and hadn't really come to terms yet with the whole UCMJ thing.
