and expect to get away with it and why your moderators should be quite aware of this.

Seriously, come on, an Australian of greek decent can specifically single out a mexican to call them a gringo and make the claim that he was using it as a benign term for stranger? Your moderators need training Ewok, and lots of it.

Cleos silly biased logic at its best yet again. The guy insults me at the following posts: 142, 146, 152, 157, 179, 192, 210, 214, 223, 252, threat at 310, yet you focus on my use of Gringo. Of course totally ignoring the intention or context. If Cleo deems something is offensive, then it is bloody offensive.

You cannot explain why it is offense, apart from some ####### about not being Spanish; therefore, I apparently have no right to use the word. Also interesting is your repeated insertion of my heritage. It's almost as if you are trying to make a point about something based on race. Bizarre, considering your allegations [labels] and surely you cannot be that stupid.

Nevertheless, the funniest of all is your I don't care stance, yet you create a thread in another cunning attempt to oust any member that constantly disagrees with you. What were you saying about pathetic again.

Then again at that age, what is one to expect. Even online drama makes life exciting I guess.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

 didn't even see this, point in case.

The word was used at the start or end of the sentence. Clearly illustrating it was a "dude" type comment. I don't know his name, so I cannot use that. Also no different to his Aussies are are hillbillies comment or internet Crocodile Dundee comment.

Take the PMS meds and get over it.

There is a ignore list for a reason.

Instead of crying about others choice of words or opinion, henceforth, put us on your ignore list. Nope won't do that, instead these select few continue to comment on the poster and their opinion of the poster. Then cry foul when the poster pushes back. Running off and pretending they are all innocent.

It's common sense to realize that what offends one, may not be offensive to others. OT section is also not a nanny site, nor can it cater for every individual and their unique level of sensitivity.

Yup, it is. Meaning varies with Context, though - could be a term used between friends, could be derogatory, as well. Usually reserved 'to be said' by someone of Hispanic descent, though... For a caucasian to say it, it's totally out of place. Was it derogatory? depends on the context of usage, always.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

It's all about context and perception of the written word. As an example from tonight, moderators are now discussing the apparent issues at length telephonically, in an attempt to balance our perspective. Interesting how perspectives are very clear through verbal communication, versus the written word. Written perspectives will always be an issue on a message board, because conclusions are formulated before clarification can be provided.

Hopefully, members will wait for clarification before finalizing their position on a given issue. Hoping anyway...

Edit to add: Sometimes the issue is obvious, but the report button brings it to Mod attention. We cannot read every post.

Being that it's a immigration forum, it's perfectly normal to assume people have different definitions of words. For example, I once said ...n'sh#t. Yet A.J swore this meant n...r. No, it is slang for and sh-t.

Cleo is simply grasping for straws. Trying to find a noun she deems offensive and then claim she is all offended; all while three posts earlier, she claimed she does not care. DouchyKanoushy on the other hand simply knows how to insult people. It's when when asked basic questions he turns all troll like and refuses to answer them. Yet apparently gets his energy back to throw out ridiculous insults again.

People who have or create dramas on a forum need a life. That said, accusing someone of [insert label] gets annoying. Apparently cleo has no problem with this type of posting, unless it's directed at here. Then it becomes childish.

My post was not designed to advance anyone's particular agenda, it was a general statement for contemplation.

Insults and inuendo are not welcome and the TOS does apply.
