Dont forget, Judaism, Christianity, and Islam all originated in the Middle East.

There is no doubt or argument that the events in Bosnia were horrific or that the response was slow. Equally there is no doubt Christianity played a negative role in the destruction and subjugation of the Native Americans in the US. Nor is there any doubt that 'good' Christian men supported, condoned, and fought to support slavery. None of this is on topic. All of it seeks to deflect from the struggle taking place throughout the world in Islamic faith.

Islam originated in the ME so it is quite fair to first look there to discuss Islam. It is disingenuous to toss any person or group of persons from the faith when their actions don't fit your ideals for the religion.

I think we can reasonably assume most Christians do not support or engage in the murder of abortion providers. But those who do those types of things do so in the name of Christianity, thus reflecting poorly on the faith as a whole. Fair enough.

I think we can reasonably assume most Muslims do not support or engage in terrorism either, but why deny those who do reflect poorly on the faith as a whole? Seems fair enough.

Religion is evil.

No, it's not always. I think religion can be harmful too, when men use it to further their own plans and that can turn evil. The almost natural human desire to wonder about a supernatural world, something bigger or better than what we see, is not evil at all but human nature in my opinion. Belief in God/gods is not an evil thing in itself, which=religion. Ceremonies, rituals, forced conversions, those are all things I could do without.

If any of the Indian posters watch Bollywood movies, maybe you should watch "My Name is Khan". Mostly good, partially cheesy, but better than typical love triangles. And an interesting storyline regarding this topic. I know maybe a movie can't change anyone's minds but I know it did make me think even more.

Oh and if all Muslims in India are supposed to be only one way and not liked by the others, then why is Shahrukh Khan(muslim) the biggest Bollywood star? And Amir Khan? They are loved a huge amount.

Amusing anecdotes. I know an older Indian guy (friend of the family) who won't watch any Hindi movie with one of the Khans in it. I also knew a Pakistani guy in college who wouldn't watch any Hindi movie that didn't have a Muslim in a lead role.

Do you remember how quickly the public turned against Sanjay Dutt when he was tied to Dawood Ibrahim and the media started hinting he was reading the Quran in his jail cell? The Indian public is fickle.
