Hey Everyone!

Longtime no post. I am glad to see for fin that Loto did NOT leave! :) Other than that, seems everyone is still in the quagmire of a process. Well I've decided be with my wife until the Second NoA comes through (After I know it's there, i will come back quickly). Sounds solid right? Because If i understand the process correctly, the D-230 and the OF forms come a few weeks after NoA 2.

Since, I will have very limited internet access, I will have to leave all the information with my mother. Now!

I'd like to run by what I have thought (i gathered most of this information by reading other posts and guides) by you guys..

So:

IN an attempt to anticipate any problems:

I figured I'd leave

- All the original Documents of Entire I-130 Packet Submitted)

- Beneficiary Passport Bio page photocopy

- Case Number to check status online.

- Filled out Affidavit of support (complete with 3 last paystubs and past 3 years of tax returns for my mother (cosponsor) and I).

Please Note that I am NOT staying until interview. I just need to be with my baby til this ugly process is over. :)

Have a good day guys!

Rumba,

You can have nice time with your wife until NOA2 comes. I am getting older while sitting here without wife & daughter and this 'ugly' waiting stress :star:

Enjoy every moment with her!

BTW, Did you get your NOA1, clear the check?

i didn't see any DS-230 related 'civil documents on yer wife.

DS-230 - http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3190.html

Is Mom sending in stuff for you, for NVC processing, or are you coming back to USA to handle NVC submittals ?

don't forget - if Mom 'has all' - you can manage (with her help) all from 'abroad', via the online payment portal and postal mail (see http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/221785-ds-3032-slowdown/page__view__findpost__p__3560467 for a mini-how-to ) .

Good Luck !!

Whoops! DS-230. Sorry I misread. I read the depressing post earlier about the DS-230 issues. Struck a chord with me i guess.

I reread the information and saw only affidavit of Support and OF forms. Good thing you let me know :)

I wont be able to handle everything online from Cuba. Once the NoA 2 is in, (they send it through snail mail right?) I will come back to the US and finish up the NVC submittals. I imagine sending in the OF forms and Affdavit of Support. Then, Calling consulate to get interview date. Sounds like a decent plan..

Here is the timeline in my head:

- Leave soon

- Come back when NoA2 is in (i imagine december or january)

- Fill out Forms and submit (1 week)

- Wait for acceptance and interview date (2-3 weeks) (this will be at Havana consulate).

Does this plan sound right?

And No LoTo i did not receive a single NoA 1 yet. I submitted the 13. I assume they are taking their time again. :(

with current 'NVC processing times' and queue, I suggest 6 to 8 weeks of NVC processing time, then another month before 'appointment date set' with interview appointment about 3 to 5 weeks after.

But hey - who knows? Fiscal Year Ends in September, and I'm guessing 4 to 6 months wait on NOA-2 date, is no telling what NVC is 'doing' around that time - you might get some speed at NVC, then.. it's a cr@pshoot, really, based on 'queue' .. grrrr.

Hey Rumba! Have a good time!

Here is a break down as I have seen it recently:

-After you get your NOA2 (and depending on if the NVC has sped back up or not), it will take around a week or two weeks for them to assign you a case number. Once you have a case number, you will talk to the operator and give them yours and your wife's e-mail addresses.

-You can e-mail off your DS3032 the same day as you get your case number or when you receive the 1st e-mail from the NVC. Your e-mail may or may not receive an auto response and may take up to 2 weeks to be accepted.

-Then possibly that day or within 3-5 days they should send you an e-mail for you to pay the AOS fee online. This could take anywhere from 3 days to a little over a week or so to clear. Once that shows as paid on the online payment portal, you have to print out the cover sheet which shows the AOS as PAID. This will be included with your I-864 packet that you send off.

-Going off of the DS3032 that you will have e-mailed, once that is accepted by the NVC, they will e-mail you telling you to pay the IV bill (the visa bill) online. If you keep up with the payment portal, the bill might be available to be paid before you receive something from the NVC. Just like with the AOS fee, once this fee shows as piad, you have to print out the cover sheet from the online payment portal that says PAID. Then you can send off your DS230 package with all of the supporting documents.

-This last part depends on how speedy the NVC is. Once they receive both of your packages and have input them into the system as according to the operator or the "voice" you get when you call, it may take anywhere from 10 days to 8 weeks to get a Sign in Fail on the online payment portal and Case Complete from the operator.

-Then finally, depending on how quick your embassy is and when they schedule interviews and when you got your SIF during the month, you might get an interview date for the following month of the month after.

So, based on when you get your NOA2 and how slow or quick the NVC is, it might take anywhere from 3 weeks from when you get your case number to when you get a sign in fail or it might take 10 weeks from when you get your case number to when you get a sign in fail.

I hope this was helpful and I'm sure someone will come along and correct whatever mistakes I have made.

Best of luck and have a safe trip!

TeyaValentina, No corrections, well said!

Rumba, you can leave now (no need to wait for NOA1), enjoy with your wife, then come back when you hear NOA2 (as of now, 4 to 6 months wait). Sad to hear why this USCIS is so slow to even send NOA1.

* Marriage Termination Documentation

Holy smokes this is required with the D-230. Thank you soo Much DARNELL! I assume if my wife never did military service I wont have to submit these forms. :) Right?

If i am going for CR-1 Visa... What category does it fall under? Here is Cuba specific page: http://travel.state.gov/visa/fees/fees_4881.html?cid=3544

I am extremely lost here. Any ideas?

CR-1 visa, yup.

You'll have some time to generate and collect her 'civil documents' whilst yer in Cuba, si! man !

re: military records and others - if no got, then don't 'make'. ie - no court records? don't 'get copies'.

But, fwiw, the list is inclusive, whilst 'what is expected of her' is NOT 100 percent from that list.

have prior prison sentence? court records required. I hope that makes sense?

usually, the 'base collection' consists of:

1. official wedding certificate plus a photocopy

2. her prior divorce documents, plus a photocopy

3. her birth certificate, plus a photocopy

4. her 'police clearance certificate' plus a photocopy (maybe, depending if sealed or not).

then the rest in that list are/is 'extra', depending on situation.

Ok sounds good. Sounds like a general list but anything is game for the requirements it sounds like. What I asked earlier was for visa clasification.. If you take a look at Cuba's page http://travel.state.gov/visa/fees/fees_4881.html?cid=3544#docs

A ton of clasifications are listed. And I have 0 idea what they mean. I assume how long the documents are vaid or visas. But then again i am confused.

IN china, did you have to ask for liberation for your wife?

liberation in china? heck no.

re: list of visa types - pay no attention to that one, as yer doing a CR-1/IR-1 visa thingie - fees are covered elsewhere.

you've paid one fee already, for the I-130 petition.

during NVC processing, yer gonna pay

AOS fee - 88 bucks

IV fee - 404 bucks

for yer wife.

Rumba,

Those are mostly non-immigrant visa classifications and not CR1 in your case. You are applying for immigrant visa CR1 (Conditional Resident 1st) since your marriage is less than 2 years. If the marrige is more than 2 years, it would have been IR1 (Immediate Relative 1st). CR1 visa will expire after 2 years of your wife's POE. Within 90 days of this expiry date, you need to renew CR1 to IR1 by completing I-751 form.

All the above documents are valid forever except PCC. Check with your Consulate how long it is valid between issue date and interview date. Normally, it is 1 year for most consulates, 6 months for some and even I heard 3 months for one.
